Superman Consolation Prize

So for those of us who can't go see Superman today, there is at least this.
The Folly of youth is to think that intelligence is a subsitute for experience. The folly of age is to think that experience is a subsitute for intelligence.

Awesome. Rather firm confirmation on Sandman, Venom, and another iteration of the Goblin. I can't say that I like Parker's haircut, but I love the inner conflict.

Also: hooray for Gwen Stacy!

I have a concern. It comes from having too many villians in a movie. This means that the existing villians can't be properly developed. Granted, we've already seen the beginnings of Osborn becoming the new Goblin (or Hobgoblin, I'm not sure which it would be). But throwing in ever more bad guys brings back bad memories of the Batman franchise.

It looks much better on the big screen, but I agree with Harbinger about too many villains.  No movie has pulled it off in the Superhero genre.  I'm hoping they introduce Venom but leave him till Spidy 4.

I haven't actually seen any shots of Venom. As far as I know, that rumor has never been confirmed. Note that Spidey dealing with the living costume is a MUCH different plot than dealing with Eddie Brock wearing the symbiote. As far as I can tell, there are only two villains. I'm wagering that one gets picked off early or else is hired by the other.

Well Clair Danes said Venom was in the movie, but she may not know the difference between the symbiote and the character.

Clair Danes was in that movie "Shopgirl". That alone is enough to discredit anything she might say on a subject, real or imaginary.

Wasn't it Kirsten Dunst who said it was Venom in the film.

They have a shot of Topher Grace in there, and he's listed as playing Eddie Brock.

Doesn't mean we'll actually see the full Venom.

I think they would be best to tone down Sandman and Hobgoblin's roles, to simply fighting Spidey in the simbiote costume yet have the main climatic scenes be around Parker and the simbiote and/or Venom. In other words, keep Sandman and Hobgoblin out of the spotlight in the final act.
