RPG Resource Websites
« on: October 07, 2003, 08:44:35 AM »
This is a place to post websites of maps, RPG resources and art.
My first link is for a great old map site with 16th and 17th century maps of Dutch towns. These could be useful for a fantasy game like warhammer,  7th sea, or D&D.

Its really graphics heavy so be careful

this next one is a great place to find electronic character sheets http://dragonfang.com/archive/page01.htm
sheets are availible as JPGs Gifs or PDFs and there are some nice homebrewed ones there as well.

The mad irishman also has a nice selection of sheets, including a few he has designed for Atlas games and the New Traveller D20 game  http://www.mad-irishman.net/

And the king of sheet archives is RPGSheets with over 1500 sheets for 150+games

Since I don't have time to browse this morning (kids and job hunting going on), what else do they have on the site? And why have they collected this information?

which site? the map site is scanned from a facsimile publication of the Blaeu's Toonneel der Steden from 1652. Presumably as a research tool and historical reference. The maps are in color and very detailed.

A good dice utility is Irony Games Dice Server
http://www.irony.com/mailroll.html
it can email results to players or the GM or just display them on scene.

oh, i see what you're doing. I thought you meant the first one was an RPG source. NM. I started writing my reply before your second post.

For dice, I actually recommend downloading this:
http://dwp.bigplanet.com/maskedplatypus/nss-folder/fluffy1/dicetk.zip
It's a simple die roller my friend wrote. It has defaults for the standard size dices, but the "wild option" let's you determine number of dice and use ANY number of sides. it also lets you do "wild" where the highest numbers give additional rolls and 1's take away the highest die.  The history keeps track of all rolls. The only thing I don't like is it won't show which dice were rolled when you do multiple dice, it only shows the final result. But it's a small file and means you don't have to use the Internet.

Is that the one you sent me?

The Irony one is downloadable too,... I like it because I can use it on systems that I cant download at (like work)
the one you gave me is good though.

If I sent you a dice roller program, than it was that one. I have another, by the same author, that he likes better, but it didn't seem to do much more for me.
