Good article, though a little too wordy for the point it focuses around.

Random point: it's not that wacky to have japanese melee troops. I was reading about the British Armies 'Chindits' experiment in the pacific theatre, and apparently the jungle battles often came to bayonets and kukri's versus katana's.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)
