Armor Wars
« on: September 23, 2005, 07:35:32 PM »
Lots of figs have snuck into the figure gallery includeing Capts, Iron Man and Warmachine.

Also let me say I'm glad Kije isn't collecting HC anymore since I don't want to have to play against that new Iron Man.

And here's the unique that comes with buying the brick Anthony Stark in very retro Iron Man armor, I would venture a guess and say that's the first Iron Man from way back.

The new Cap is nice, but I like his ultimates version better sculpt- and dial-wise.  Comparing vets, ultimates gives you a better dial (imo) for 12 points less.

And alas, that new Iron Man is nice.  Great to have him with a solid attack value.  That was always my gripe with the fig.

Look there's new news on the web!

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rock810/album?.dir=/mail

blurry but gots most of the figs, also the people over at Hcrealms says its not much of a theme set unless it's supposed to be an X-man set since that's who most of the figs are.

sculpt/figure wise nothing too impressive to me, though I'm not that knowledgeable in Marvel.  Though I do like the Magneto sculpt since it's different and the Shaman sculpt is cool looking as well as the Spidy (though lately all the Spidy sculpts have been good).

Hooray! -- http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=8774

Kind of lame, though, in that about half of Alpha Flight got put into X-Men instead of Avengers.

Humm...I wonder if the reason for Armor Wars being an Iron Man set has anything to do with a new Iron Man Cartoon that was announced around the same time.  It's known that WK has to add certain figs that Marvel wants in for each set.

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=148768

There's also an Ultimate Avengers cartoon in the works as well.

So for Clix today I decided to do a draft since I didn't have a team and got a great pull for my team:

V Cap.
V Paladin
V Diamond Lil
E Quick Silver

Paladin is a great fig and so is Cap, I only got second place but I lost to the guy who always plays the cheese teams (he had a LAMP team with 3 lockjaws, Joker with armor piercing, task master and Diamond Lil).

Though what I'm happy about is all the trading I did.

Traded an U Cyborg for
E Iron Man
LE Roy Harper

Traded my second U Cyborg and some Titan Repeats I had for
U Ghost Widow

Traded LE Gar Logan for
U Flash (Icons)

And then traded REVs for
U Jocasta
E War Machine

I got the Iron Man for when Kije wanted to come and play and then someone wanted to trade their war machine so I got him since he's a cool fig and a nice complement to Iron Man.

What I'm surprised is that someone wanted to trade Ghost Widow for Cyborg.

This Saturday is the Marquee and I'm not sure if I'm going to go or not.  On one had I haven't played since before Thanksgiving but on the other I don't feel like buying any more Clix until next month when I'm getting my CD brick.

The Armor Wars marquee is this week? How does that even makes sense?
