Turkey must be doing something right
« on: August 07, 2003, 07:19:11 PM »
The Magic World Championships are this weekend, and it's brought a certain fact clearly to light: Our National champions look like this:

while Turkey's looks like this:

Seriously...what are we doing wrong?

France's champions, in case your curious, look like this:

WotC in Turkey advertises Magic in Vogue, Glamour, and Sweet Sixteen

I can just picture the Magic ad in Vogue. A bunch of anorexic models sitting around a table holding the cards upside down, maybe shaking some dice or eyeing some shirtless hunk standing in the doorway. Magic the way it was meant to be played.

As long as they don't feel the need to coordinate the colour of their decks with the clothes they're wearing, its fine by me.

They would match the clothes to the deck, not the deck to the clothes.

That's assuming they build their decks based on some kind of strategy, not on fashion. When it comes to fashion, logic doesn't come into play.

fashion has it's own logic. Something akin to that of a blue-bottom baboon.

I don't care how they're doing it. Turkey has me rooting for them.

Yeah, if nothing else, maybe it'll be infectious. Go Turkey!
