What *is*MTG Studio? Is it an environment for playing? or what? How does it differ from Apprentice, if so (which is my personal choice for playing, alont with NetDraft)

It seems to be an archive type thing for your collection, judging from the screenshots and features list. It's features list is quite nice in fact, and the stuff he is planning to put in just looks insanely detailed.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

Hum.  You know, "errand runner" seems like an ironically appropriate title for a guy who pops in with one post to give us a link.

The question is the legality of the program.  And from the looks of it Wizard could easly sue them.

Depends.  I didn't look at it, but I recall that Wizards has said that people could repeat card texts if they wanted (assuming they use it in its entirety) as long as they didn't use the art, which was copyrighted to the artists (I think.)

I'm not sure where I got this, though, so it could be completely fabricated.

Well the full art and flavor text is also used.  Which is something that realy annoys wizard.  Also there will be a online game player released, which would have all the rules coded into it.  Another think Wizards wont like.
