Z.O.E. 2 is a beutiful game. Of course, there are a lot of games with bad graphics that are still good games.

Yeah, you should play the first one. Even if it was created in the earlier days of the PS2, I think it maximizes the potential of the system in the graphics/smoothness of gameplay department.
