Here in Michigan, we're like a year ahead of these people. Gorgon, Archon, and I have been organizing 8-16 player matches since last summer.

I'd be interested if they were to play a game that wasn't a pile of wank.

But no, they played Halo. Fools.

That it's a big pile of wank, I'll wager. Maybe he'll be more specific, though.

I personally thought Halo was a pretty cool multiplayer game, but if it's possible for wank to come in piles, single player Halo may well be one such pile.

I don't want to get into anything, but it is a big messy pile of Entropic dung. Slow movements, crappy guns, consoled (no consoling), and pretty much a big letdown. But hey, if that's all you got and you can't play UT2k4, Quake(s), or any other actual adrenaline pumping game, then hey, take it like you do your tea, lukewarm.

I like it because it is slowed down enough that you can actually control it and it makes the fights much more fun. Also with the pace a little more relaxed it gives you more time to strategize and actually make the game more intellectual. I like the style it adds to the game.

/me chokes with laughter

Halo? Strategic?! There is more strategy in my cup of tea. It was just a slowwww game, with a rediculously unbalanced gun selection for multiplayer, and boring maps. If anyone is wondering, the review I did of Halo was overgenerous in my opinion now. Though I think that about most of my reviews, heh.

Play UT04 - that way you can play Alien Swarm, which is a top-down version of Aliens. Very good fun. Play Quake 3 for the frantic fun. As an example of strategy that exists in actual multiplayer games, in Quake3 one strategy I have heard of is to use the lightning gun on an opponent. This slows him down and pushes him away from you, then you quickchange to the railgun and fire instantly, and since he was held by the lightning gun he is dead centre in your reticle. I'd like to see such things within Halo. In Halo, all you do is just get the invisibility and use the rocket launcher as a shotgun. Or you get the sniper rifle and because it's semi auto you can fire 5 bullets in a second.

It's actually 4, but who cares. If you have to use the lightning gun to slow down your opponent in Q3 so you can use the rail gun, you don't deserve to use the rail gun, IMHO. I remember when I would play Q3 me and my friends would just pick each other out of the air with the rail gun. Oh those were the days.
