Happy B-Day to my one day old niece, Linea.

And a pox on my older brother for not telling me about my niece beingn born a week early. Not a lethal pox mind you, since he needs to take care  of my new niece, but rather uncomfortable pox would be appropriate.

Happy 50th Birthday to my mom, Tessie B. Here's to her propensity for making midnight brownies, her obsession with YA Civil War lit and with Alias, her habit of bringing a rolling carry-on suitcase to the library with her, and her propensity for stealing our candy and having stashes of her own. Mostly, I am proud she's my mom.

Happy Birthday to my grandpa.  84 years ago he was born on a Friday the 13th in October!

My son won't turn three until February, but he's decided to have his birthday early and has been going around the house singing "Happy Birthday to You".
If I had any clue, would I be here?

Happy birthday to my sister! She's old . . . like 34. I can't believe I have siblings that old; that means I'm getting older (but since I'm the youngest, they'll always be older than me).

Happy Birthday to my ferret, Nefer. She's only 3 but that's like 30 in ferret years.

I need to get her a new toy mouse since her old one has been thoroughly slain.
