We have 821 articles in the Database.

Yes, I made sure each one was real. I did it because the id for the article I ran yester day was 900, and I thought, woah, coming up on 1000 soon. Not as soon as I thought, but we're talking a few months still. (ok, yes, I realize that makes me a geek,... especially since I just deleted the list of gaps in the article series that I was keeping... keeping the list, then throwing it out. I'm not sure which was geekier).

Anyway. I'd like to do something special when we hit 1000 articles (sometime in May, I think, depending on how many theme days we have between now and then. Yes.. I'm way in advance, but we pretty much need to).

What should we do for Article number 1000?

A cheesy retrospective in which we talk about how the early success of TWG brought us fame and fortune but pushed us into wild living and drug abuse, followed by a crash, followed by rehab, followed by a very bad "comeback" article, followed by a cheesy retrospective.

Some kind of self-satisfied smirk fest about how TWG was started as a way to scam free games from unsuspecting game companies, suckers, leading into a  "Look what has come of it!" conclusion.

I was thinking more along the lines of a lollipop.

Perhaps a "Best of" blurb on the front page, covering the best written articles, best scroring reviews, etc.

But I like the retrospective. We should really write that. as Article #1000. It'd be hilarious

That's because when ever you deleate an article it dosen't lower the database's article id count.
