Hello from Scotland!
« on: December 01, 2002, 11:17:28 AM »
Not much time left on this internet kiosk, but just thought I'd drop a line and say hi. Having a great time! I went to Campbeltown out on the Kintyre peninsula, did some family history--actually a LOT of family history, and now I'm in Glasgow taking in the sights. Hello to all you UK people I'm probably passing on the street and not even knowing it. Gotta go!

Glad you like Scotland Stacer.  I've never been there, but I've been all over Ireland.  It's a beautiful place.  Have fun and enjoy the haggis!!

I actually tried haggis at the b&b my first morning, and it wasn't bad. Not something I'd have often, but pretty good. She gave me black pudding with the same breakfast, and it was very similar.

So haggis is sort of like black pudding? I've never heard of the stuff.

haggis is various meats and spices and stuff cooked in  a sheep's stomach (now in a plastic bag)
and it is nice, especially with turnip and mashed potato

unless you dont like turnips.
haggis is annoying. you wouldnt believe how many times people have asked me about it. at the last count, 3,500 individual idiots.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

No worries. I'm an idiot often enough to accept the name without too much sting in my pride. Reference the HAPPY THANKSGIVING thread if you need further evidence.
