You're not supposed to get it. You're a girl. Male interaction is one of the few mysteries we have still from girls.
The reason girls don't understand male interaction with girls is that they want to apply their girl logic (which appears to ahve something to do with not being entirely up front and presenting some sort of image so they can run tests and manipulate) to a behavior that is actually pretty rudimentary and straightforward to the most part. THis appears to confuse girls, and is why men always wonder "Why is she asking me THAT?"

If men think so damn well "straightforward" why can't they make the simple and important connection to things like "If I don't tell my wife what I want, she'll never kjnow what I want because she can't read my mind." and "If I throw my shirt behind the couch it will not be found and will not be washed when the laundry is next done."  ?

ok, nothing men do at all has anything to do with laundry. When laundry enters the picture, all the rules change. Unless that rule is "I'd rather not do that"

And actually, it's typically WOMEN who expect the mind reading in life. Or maybe that's just my perception.

Exactly. And don't give me that crap about "reading minds" and "changing rules". It's not acceptable in either gender.
