The evil's of D&D, as told by 8bit theater.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I'm just not sure i believe it. These people should have been able to SEE the club house. i'm positive not everyone had "real" weapons so they would have seen the fake plastic bits, etc. Sounds like a good gag, but when presented as a psychological study like he does, well... it falls apart.

Ah, well I just assumed that 1. this was before most people had heard about things like D&D, and 2. the people in question were very very stupid.

I've met people that stupid, so I can believe it.

I don't think the first of those assumptions is valid. Didn't he say something about the 80s? it was well enough known in the early 80s. Maybe the people were pretty stupid, but this still amounts to a basic incapacity to function in society.

Now, if they were so blasted drunk they could barely stand.... but this foregoes the possibility to rationalize with each other that they were not crazy like he said they did (one wonders how he knew so much about these peoples' experience? did he spend his whole time watching them?)
