Tonight, ABC news will air an Al Qaeda tape which warns Americans to not vote for Bush or else there will be another massive terrorist attack.

Here's a quote from the tape: "What took place on September 11 was but the opening salvo of the global war on America and that our Lord willing, the magnitude and ferocity of what is coming your way will make you forget all about September 11."

It's been authenticated by the FBI and CIA (as to it's genuineness, not the plausibility of the claims).

It makes you think.  I want to discuss this a little more, but I don't have a lot of time.  Maybe after it airs...

Another quote from the tape:

"No, my fellow countrymen you are guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty. You are as guilty as Bush and Cheney. You're as guilty as Rumsfeld and Ashcroft and Powell," he says in what he calls his message to America. "After decades of American tyranny and oppression, now it's your turn to die. Allah willing, the streets of America will run red with blood matching drop for drop the blood of America's victims."

Who is it speaking on the tape?

A masked Al Qaeda member, but he's American -- American accent and all that.  It's apparently someone the CIA knows about that they've been calling "Assan the American".  They don't know his real identity.

It never fails to amuse me when our terrorist enemies talk about the mythical "decades of American tyranny and oppression" as the justification for their terrorism.  

Keep it up boyos.  You ain't seen nothin' yet.

The reason they're playing it so soon is it just got released and the networks wanted to take another few days to have it aunthenticated.  No reason to have another "Rathergate" here.

The reason why the terriorists are doing this is they think they can do the same thing they did in Spain, which is to scare the general populas into voteing in a certain way.  Which shows that they don't understand americans very well, the people that aren't voteing for Bush are doing so becasue of his politics, not becasue they're affraid some loon on a tape is going to do something.
