Soda pop just gets weirder
« on: September 01, 2004, 10:59:15 PM »
I thought Pepsi Blue was bad enough back two summers ago, and now in the same week I learn about "Mountain Dew Pitch Black" (starring Vin Diesel!) and 7up PLUS, which wins as the STUPIDEST thing to name a soda. Yes, even over Sprite Remix.

7up PLUS!

Also, tastes like crap and now I'm stuck with 11 other cans because it was on sale and only has ten calories per can.  Can we not be like Diet Mt. Dew or Diet Pepsi and just use aspartame?  CURSE YOU SODA COMPANIES.

7up Plus sounds like a type of gasoline.  It probably has about the same effect on your system.

I go for simple when I drink pop, which isn't very often anyway. Any generic root beer will do, or Sprite-ish pop, but these new ones always taste so weird. Like Sierra Mist. Ick.

I have yet to meet a Mt Dew I didn't like. Pitch Black (why they call it black when it's grape I don't know. Have you ever seen Black Grapes in the store?) is great.
Grape and Orange are kinda the step-children in the soda world. They only get attention once in awhile when you need something different or have a weird craving.
Now as a kids, we used to mix whatever store brand soda Grams had in the fridge for our fiendish experiments. Then as we get older, it cola this or citrus that. Grape and Orange kinda fall by the wayside. Where is the media push for them? Why are they left out?
Thank you Pepsi Co for giving us a refreshing new grape!

I love the Mtn Dew Live Wire, but the Code Red tastes like liquid gummy bears.  And I don't mean that in a good way.

Actually, I've been caffeine free since August 21st.  This is a big deal for me.

I think I might lose my teeth to soda, cause I honestly drink that much of it.

Personally, Vanilla Pepsi is about as weird as I get over soda.  You can keep all the New and Improved gimmicky stuff.

I'm all about Shasta.  Remember Shasta?  I haven't seen it around for ages and ages but I found some the other day at all-a-dollar.  I think it may be overstock from the 80s, but it still tastes good.

Where are you from that you can't find Shasta?  It's the most plentiful brand of soda at my grocery store.  Grape Shasta is the most heavenly of all drinks.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

Shasta is still around, and its probably the cheapest soda around too.  If you actually like it, then you're in luck, because you will save money.  You will find a shasta machine and pepsi machine side by side, and the pepsi 20 ounce bottle will be 1.00 and the shasta 50 cents.

SHASTA!!!  It hasta be shasta!  Go shasta!

We can't get it here, either, most of the people I know don't even know what it is.  whenever my cousins come out they bring as much shasta as can fit in their car, and we will drink it and be merry.  And more often than not, make a shasta based commercial.  But you didn't care about that.  GO SHASTA!
