Yeah, maybe this should go into the "Writer's Group" forum, but I think everyone can enjoy it. It's a collection of Name Generators. Obviously, he's done one engine, but he's done an impressive collection of name groups to do so many different generators.

Where are you suited to live?

http://www.findyourspot.com

Mine:

Mine:

1. Carlisle, PA
2. Cincinnati, OH
3. Denver, CO
4. Salt Lake City, UT
5. Ft. Collins, CO
6. Provo-Orem, UT

And further down the list are places like Ogden, Albany, Long Island, Minneapolis, Roanoke (VA), Bloomington (IN), Cleveland, Asheville (NC), Duluth, Ann Arbor, Seattle, Cheyenne, etc.

So pretty much I could live anywhere in the U.S. above a certain latitude. Note, however, Boston and New York City were *not* included in the list.

Warning. YOu have to register for their stupid crap, and they don't ask for it until you're DONE. And you have to be more creative than [email protected] to get past the email check. I gave them all false info, natch.

ok, Charleston, SC, and Norfolk and Virginia Beach (# 1, 4, and 5 respectively) I get. But what's up with all this Florida and Texas crap (at least 4 cities in TX, and 9 or 10 in Florida? That's insane. I said mountains, you stupid survey. I'd go shoot people if I lived in either of those states. Course, I also got a few Mississippi references, two in Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama, and one in Georgia (Athens, home town to both REM and Matthew Sweet).

If you can count Texas and Florida as the South (I don't) then i didn't get a single one not in the South, even though I checked some other regions as well. I reckon I didn't get DC or Boston on account of the home price I listed.

Yeah, I think Boston was out because I checked a lower rent.

And sorry, forgot to warn about the registration thing. That really annoyed me. They have no reason for needing that information.

Heh...I got past the e-mail check with an empty field.

As for my top place, it was some place in the middle of America I've never heard of.

Hmmm...

Palmer, Alaska
Anchorage, Alaska
Leavenworth, Washington
Lebanon, New Hampshire
Heber, Utah
Divide, Colorado

Those are my top 6.

Ketchikan, Alaska is on my list. The town that's 5 blocks wide.   Provo-Orem, Utah  is on there too.  But I guess I'd love Alaska had I ever have the chance to go.

I think this test doesn't take into account a lot of personality traits.

I'm wondering if certain cities pay for the privilege of being the most recommended. Like Carlisle, PA, for example. It was at the top of the list of a lot of my friends.

I think if I were rich I'd probably buy a lot of comic based T-shirts. Here's my current favorite. Who knew we need this?

That's wacky.  With the exception of Alaska, I didn't get anything this side of the Mississippi.

1) Lewiston, Maine
2) Maryville, Tennessee
3) Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
4) Henderson, North Carolina
5) Johnstown, Pennsylvania
6) Plymouth, New Hampshire

oo! Henderson, NC. do it. My wife and I have talked several times about moving to NC to pursue schooling and so forth.  We could be Mormon writer buddies with OSC!

It's interesting that I marked Latter Day Saints, but got nothing in Utah.  I also marked Catholics, though, so maybe that overrides the LDS (it looks that way, since I got a lot of New England).

Why did I choose Catholics too?  No real reason -- I just like Catholics.
