With this 3x3x3, when you add the correct word to the beginning or end of a word on the list, a new word will be formed.  Thus, the correct answers will only be single words, rather than phrases.  (For example, a correct answer for ace might be adding surf in order to get surface, but not adding flying  in order to get flying ace.)

UPDATE: revised to show position (but not length) of the word to be added.

Nope.

In looking at the puzzle as posted, I think it may be too difficult, because the words are so common. So I'm going to revise it to show position.
