Sheesh, I need to pick less controversial puzzles.

You are stranded on a desert island where everybody tells the truth.  You need to find your boat, which you are standing on.  10 natives come out to help you.  What do you ask them?  (Hint, remember, you are standing on your boat)

What stops the liar from pointing to one of the outcasts instead of the honest person?

Also, if the outcast is lying on the first question, what stops them from pointing to one of the other outcasts instead of to the honest person?

Quote
Ask somebody to point out the liar.

The liar would point to the honest person.
The honest person would point to the liar.
And outcast would point to either the liar or the honest person depending on if they were telling the truth.

So, you are now talking to either the liar or the honest person.  I would ask them "If I were to ask the other person here, who is a member of a village, which way to the fountain of youth, what would they say?"

If you were talking to the liar, they would you to the pit of despair.  If you were talking to the honest person, they would point you to the pit of dispair.  So whichever way they tell you to go, you go the other way?

From the terms of the puzzle:
Quote
Lietellers always lie by telling the exact opposite of the truth, when possible.
Outcasts alternate between telling the truth like Truthtellers and and lying like Lietellers.

oh! oh! I know! I ask them where my boat is. And since they always tell the truth, that means I'll need to make a complete circuit of the island in my boat till I get back to where my boat is.

That's too simple. It can't be the answer. Occum's (sp?) Razor is completely untrue.

It was a trick question.  When I said boat, I really mean can opener.  There was no boat.  Clearly the liars on the island should have made that clear.

Sorry for the confusion.  That joke was just a 'silly one'.  There was no real riddle there.  Kind of like a riddle like this.

"Therez isz somethingz unusualz aboutz thisz paragraphz. Canz youz findz itz?"

Anyway, back to the 'real riddle'...

Ok, here are the instructions for the 3X3X3...

I'm going to give you a series of words, in no particular order.  Three of those words are related by a word you have to come up with.  For example.

foot
room
fire

Those three words can all be tied together with the word ball.

football
ballroom
fire ball.

The word that ties them together can be placed in front of, or behind to make sense.

I'm going to give you 27 words.  when you find the right words for all of them, you will be left with 9 words.  Those 9 words can be cut down to three, and then finally you will have one word.

I am going to be a bit more strict this time.  You must guess all of the words with the right word.  Last time if you got two of them, I went ahead and declared it right.  I'm not going to do that this time.  So if somebody guesses Football, Ball room, and rubber ball, I will declare that 'incorrect', even though ball, and two of the words are right.

That last sentence in the above paragraph was important.  Read it again if your mind was wandering.

I'll post the words in the next post.
