I've always wanted to bite my thumb at someone. But I didn't want to start a war to do it.

Do it to spriggan. He'd be so busy trying to make his response legible you'd get away with it. :)

Yeah, for my trip to California. Then maybe I could make it in 5 hours instead of 14.  :P

English-chinese-English translation of Episode 3.

There are a couple naughty words in the subtitles.

It does talk about the Presbyterian Church, though.

which reminds me of somehting Fozzie Bear said. "They don't look like Presbyterians to me." Though I suppose in the star wars universe that would be "Look like Presbyterians to me they do not."

What happens to a renaissance faire when it dies?

This guy snuck into an old abandonned Ren faire and took pictures of the ghost town left  behind.

Many, many large pictures. Dial-up users may not want to try it.

Heh. You americans are wierd.

I'm confused though - I know that they will have built the wooden buildings (i can see the mdf boards on some of them (and I nearly typed that as .mdf, nerd that i am)) but since when does America have castle towers? Add to that random bits of church-like wall, and a small bridge, and it appears they had some stonemasons on hand :o

Plus: I think he's talking bull about getting paranoid - how can you both be relaxed and paranoid?

Good link though :)

These pictures just strike me as very sad.  I've never been to a Ren. Faire, but these are some pretty amazing buildings.

Yeah. Someone originally really put a lot of time and effort into it. I wish someone would come along now and restore it--it's pretty cool. But it probably went out of business, so it's doubtful that the person who bought the land would make it into a Ren.Faire again.  :(

A few of my coworkers are in groups that perform at the Washington Ren. Faire--apparently, they do Shakespeare performances at it. So I think I'm going to try to make it to it, though the money thing might get in the way. The fact that I have none, that is. But it's something to keep in mind for next year if I don't make it this year.
