Well its really cool when the color is drained and the big fight scene at the end is in B&W. Which helps with all the blood that is spewed forth onto everything. So its actually really neat.

I'm not going to bother explaining the apples-oranges comparison, since I've always found that to be a terrible metaphor.  Of course you can compare apples and oranges--you could compare apples to anger if you had a good enough argument.  But, anyway.

Casting Uma in the movie actually, for some reason, made me more interested to see it.  I will agree that she isn't the best actor, nor is she all that attractive, but in the preview I saw she at least looked...mean.  She seemed like the kind of person who could actually kick some trash.  It was refreshing compared to Charlie's Angels (not you, Entropy.  The other Charlie who leads a secret organization of female spies.)  The movie was ruined for me by having Camron Diaz try to strike threatening ninja poses.

If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I think Uma Thurman is very attractive.  That's all.  And it has nothing to do with how many people she's killed.

I was never comparing apples to oranges. I was comparing oranges to trees. Alright?

I caught Kill Bill on Saturday night and really enjoyed it.
Except for a few minor editing mistakes the movie gelled well, and proved to be a worth homage to the Samurai/Martial Arts movies of the 60's and 70's.
I saw elements of old Shaw brothers movies, Kurasawa films, Bruce Lee and of course Sonny Chiba the original Street Fighter. Chiba has a nice role in this film and Uma does a nice job as "the bride".
I like that Thurmun and Tarentino wrote the script together and the references to Fox Force 5 from Pulp Fiction are cute, like the (Black chick who's good with knives). The violence is way over the top and I loved it. Uma's fight against the crazy 88 is very reminicent of Toshiro Mifune in Sanjuro but with elements of other movies thrown in. Oh and the music! Love him or hate him Tarentino knows how to use music in a film!
