You should do what me and Tage were recomending EUOL, get several domains and have the all forward to the name (even if its a weird one that most people wouldn't think of).  Generaly you want your main URL to be as short as possible, and use .com (for the reason's fuzzy said).  But you could easy get a .net domain that's the wierd one and have several normal ones that foward to it.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

that's what I was saying. brandonsanderson.com may seem longer, but it's the most memorable.

You know what stays in your memory?  Things that rhyme or are related and from a song.

Sandersonsmom.com

BooksfromSanderson.com

BrandonSanderson.com (kinda rhymes too, so you're lucky.)

Lol.  That would certainly help the book sell--sending everyone to the wrong letter of the alphabet in the bookstore.  They'd all walk away with Piers Anthony books instead of mine.  (Shudder.)

I have to agree with fuzzy, if you're going to go different, pick something innocuous like stetcanister.com. You might find yourself 5 or 10 years down the road thinking, "Why did I name my site after my first book? It was so lame." Whereas your name, or something quirky and EUOLesqe would be "defining" rather than "pigeon-holing."
