I'm not sure--most people know about the talents I have--cause I like to share 'em. :) (Craft stuff, yummy food, etc.)

Most people don't know I was a cheerleader once...

Of course, that didn't last long because the other girls didn't want me on the squad, so they changed the practice time and location and "forgot" to tell me...which was fine with me, because I was much more interested in being a soccer player anyway. ;)

Yeah, me being a cheerleader surprised people recently as well. And being on the dance team. Brenna, perhaps it's because we're so bookish. It's hard to think of us as the stereotypical socialite. (Which I never was, even as a cheerleader/dance girl. Ever the nerd girl, I'm afraid. It was a small school and they couldn't turn away girls that could dance.)

I also had a friend in Chicago who, when I'd mention I'd been home for the weekend or something related to the farm, would always shake his head and say, "I just can't picture that. I have to remind myself that you grew up on a farm."

I guess I adapt well.

I am fairly adept at messing around with and even fixing engines, and machinery (especially copy machines and printers which I suppose I scare into working) , and a fair hand with an axe as well. I also cook well.

I actually can fish (both fly and reel).  I'm not too bad with canoeing, kayaking, and using small boats. Considering I've now spent most of my life in either the mountains or the desert, I think that qualifies as a hidden talent.

I took 4th in a State Spelling Bee, studying probably half as much as everyone else.

I won third place out of three in a horse show at the age of seven. They gave me a trophy.  :D

I was on the first place football team in the county when I was 10

I was on 2nd and 3rd place soccer teams in their leagues from age 7ish until I was 11.

I placed 5th place in a Tang Soo Do tournament at age 12

Yeah, and you thought I wasn't athletic

Power of the Pen? I got 7th place in 7th grade...

I am good at pruning trees. And I really enjoy it.

Yep, power of the pen.  I still have the stories and I honestly don't think they're very good, so I can't imagine what I was competing against.

That's awesome. Power of the Pen was the highlight of junior high. My 8th grade year (I think it was that rather than the 7th grade year) our team won state. Barb won something at state one year, like 2nd or something. The year I got 7th though they only handed out awards to the top 6 spots (they started doing top 12 later) so I didn't find out until a few weeks later how I did. The next year I didn't make the final 2 rounds so was bummed out, but when the team got 1st that was really cool.

Individual first was definitely the creme de la creme so I think it's fantastic you won that.
