Most RPG's tend to stick strictly to the 'women can do anything that men can, there is no difference between genders' line. Though as Lucy (a player in my rpg group) noted, if we ever played a game set in the ancient time period she would probably have to play a male character, since playing the wife who sits at home for 10 years while Odysseus shags his way across greece would get old after a few sessions.

Odysseus did very little shagging in Greece, actually. He shagged his way across the entire Mediterranean though.

No, I'm talking about the covers I see when I walk through the fantasy aisle at the bookstore--so it could be YA or adult. But mainly it's the big series.

I just had the chance to read the topic.

I agree that the nudity and erotic art is tasteless in the RPG's.  I'm not buying the books because I want that art, I buy the books because I want to play the game.  If I wanted nudity, I'd go and buy a porno mag from the nearest bookstore or have Capt. Morgan send me some.  

It's almost as if RPG books are becoming soft porn.

Woohoo to soft porn. Moredew, you know that's why I buy the gaming books. If it wasn't for the titties in the books, why buy gaming books that have the same basic information in them as the rest. Sure every now and again something is orginal. But most of the time, we make up our own stuff as often as use stuff in the books. The images in these books give us the ideas that we want to use for our own made up stuff. Plus gives us something nice to look at.

An ammendment to my comment about Paranoia:

I recently saw shots of the art from the 5th Edition. 5th Edition did have art like this. Terrible art. Atrocious, horrible, frightening art.

I am so glad Paranoia XP is not like this.
