Okay, granted that was obvious advice. But I didn't know, and sometimes we overlook the obvious.

I would also like to point out that I had fewer boyfriends and fewer dates than you did before I got married, and I got married later.

And that was really juvenile.

Seriously though, when I prayed about my now husband it was mostly for help so that I would stop lusting after another girl's boyfriend. I had a larger pool to pick from . . . and I couldn't stop think about someone who belonged to someone else.

Well, like I said... for some of us it clicks sooner than others. It's not that it's not good advice. It is. It's just that it's not complete, especially for people who have done all they can and still not had opportunities to date, let alone get married.

I refer to the Visting Teaching message for February.

And I murmur that it's not fair.

Yeah, I'm there with you. Though specifically working on the not murmuring part.

The human mind wants what it can't have.  Ask someone if they want a cookie, and if they say no, then tell them they couldn't have the cookie anyway.  They'll want it eventually (if you haven't already eaten it).  Same goes for everything else.  Teens want beer because they can't have it.  Once they can, for many it's not that big of a deal.  I guess that also falls into the category of anticipation is the best part...

Yes, but in this case, she ended up marrying this fellow.

Yes, and managed not to alienate his friendship before he broke up with said other girl, thereby proving that the praying was helpful, even if I didn't get what I was asking for.

I was just trying to make a point.  Try to ignore what other people have, as it's everyone's nature to thrive off wanting it...

And good for you.
