i contend that historically accurate reasons are not the only right reason to idolize a class. I further contend that what we are doing is not idolizing a class, but using them for humorous ends. I finally contend that if a real ninja really paid attention and/or cared about the way we talked about him, he'd probably flip out and kill us.

It would upset him, I agree.  He would only kill us if he found someone to pay him for it though.
