What's the difference between an optomotrist and an opthalmologist?

Ophthamalogist:  Has an M.D.  Focuses mainly on ocular surgery including cataract extraction, LASIK, laser treatments, and oculoplastics.  A secondary care provider that can perform primary care.  Is liscenced to do everything an optometrist can, but tends not to as they focus on surgery and stay away from glasses and contacts.  Optometrists refer to them for out of control disease cases and for any surgery that needs to be done.

Optometrist:  Has an O.D degree (much like a dentist is DDS).  A primary care provider.  Can prescribe glasses and contacts as well as treat eye disease.  Cannot do invasive surgery (except in OK).  Can perform visual therapy for patients with binocular disfunctions, can prescribe for low vision.   Basically, can do everything an Ophthamalogist can do except surgery.

Is it really better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all?

Seriously, no.  That quote is the biggest lie ever perpetuated.

Is it true that cookies need love, just like everything else?

And is it true that whilst there is no spoon in the matrix, there is a steak knife and sometimes a fork?

I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, for you tread on my dreams"

An unloved cookie is a tasteless cookie in my books.

There is a steak knife and fork in the Matrix only because the programmers couldn't model the physics and reflections of a bowl of soup properly so they eliminated soup and all need for spoons.   Sporks are also out.
