I think we could all do with this. Post any virus reports you see. Try and put them in quote boxes just to make it easier to scan for new ones :)

There is an msn virus spreading rapidly round the internet at the moment, if anyone IMs you with a .pif link you are strongly advised to ignore it. For more info click here. If you are already infected with it a removal tool can be found here.

Mcafee confirmed virus.

If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

One rule, verify ALL virus reports with a visit to McAfee or Symantec. It's free, and it keeps you from looking like a fool and wasting people's time. No reports garnered from an email forwarded by your buddies!

+1 to SE
also,
Here is my own proclimation

The internet is a dirty broken place.  If you connect to it, you are dipping your computer into a vat of filth and electronic disease.  Those who fail to protect their machines while coating them in such filth are simply excersizing their role in evolution.  The destruction of their data will help the surviving computing community to become wiser and stronger

If the internet were introduced in the state it is in now, NO ONE would touch it.
Alles!!!

That's what I say about Africa, Oseleon. :P

Also - I modified my post to include a link to the mcafee database confirming the virus. :)

I got the MSN one, and I was bored, so I installed it to see what it would do.

Still some residual spyware trojans on my system, but I can't be bothered reformatting and I have them under control with my firewall regardless.
Go go super JP newbie slapdown force! - Entropy

well, Ent, I wasn't really targeting you, since y'know, you had a link to a Symantec fix tool. I assumed, seeing the link was real, that was good enough. Plus every AV app on the planet had a new definition file available yesterday.
