I don't have an answer to that. It's possible, but there is insufficient data... I think it's an idea that the Deepness isn't bad, but Ruin painted it the bad guy... I don't know.

I was reading and posting around March - July 07, before I moved and disappeared for almost a year (wow... didn't realize it'd been that long...)

Matthew R Carlin, if that's enough. :)

I believe it's Multiple Personality (Dissociative identity disorder, actually); Schizo is seeing people who aren't there, like in A Beautiful Mind.

And he might, you never know unless you know, you know?... Like know Andrew... And symptoms for diagnosing Psychological disorders... yeah...  :P

I think the Inquisitor was planning on killing El and stealing his power. Life force. Whatever. My theory is still that Hemalurgy takes the raw power that the sacrifice has and gives it to the Inq. That's why they tend to start out as Seekers; they already have Allomancy in their blood, so give them more power and they have the powers of a Mistborn. Give them more life in general and they heal faster. Sacrifice Keepers, and they can start accessing Feruchemy. Though where he got the spike from is anyone's guess. And why didn't Elend push it out of his hand? Or Vin? If it was metal...

El is stronger, makes sense, foreshadowed a lot already. And we can all see that Vin was a zillion times better and faster at killing Kolloss than Elend was. She has crazy mad fighting skills.

And for all we know, the writings could be the future, and/or they could even be Vin. She did hold the power and could have had that much insight. There's even foreshadowing of this in the books, when she's studying and such.

And I just lent WOA to a friend... Can't look it up now... Where was the lake located? Was it on that metal map, or just the circled city?

EDIT: Circled city theories, anyone?

Yeah; in the moment when Marsh seized control of his mind again (before losing it again in the end), his perceptions and viewpoints completely changed from delight to horror.

Too tired...

Brainstorm: Metal Lake

The metal lake gives some kind of power. Or it's where preservation is. Or it has the power to make a body for Ruin. It's where the mists come from.

Or it's just a really still lake with impurities that make it more reflective, giving it the appearance of metal, in which case what is important is what is near the lake.

Zane only had one spike (that we know of, only one is mentioned) so that's prolly why he could resist Ruin.

I think a lot of people will die; only Kelsier died in the first book (of the main group, I mean), and in the second book, a lot more died. So I think the third could very well kill off even more characters.

Atium's rare enough as it is. Somehow I have to doubt someone made a dagger out of it. Besides, someone would have to die for him to not die when the spike was stabbed into him. That sort of thing doesn't happen casually. Hemalurgy is done on purpose, not accident.

Also, Atium comes only in beads. Beads in special geodes.

And finally, he didn't work in the Pits. The scars on his arm that made Vin think that he had worked in the Pits were from him cutting himself to lessen the voice in his head.

I'm not ruling out the idea of the spike being Atium, I just don't think it's likely; that would take a lot of Atium.

There are plans for a sequel, but it will be a while, what with all the other projects he's working on. If you're looking for a good read in the mean time, check out the Mistborn Trilogy, especially since the third is due out in just a few weeks. :D

I think I said something along those lines some pages back, so yeah, I think it's definitely plausible. :)
