Yeah that 1st edition was kid of a dog.... I had the convention three ring binder edition for a while. Crappy!
But they fixed that and organized better and now are in a 3rd editon.
The Mythos were fun, but lots of people hated them.

Well I never had a problem with Vampire's rules...
Story teller chooses Target # to succeed, you roll  1's cancel out successes, more one's than successes you botch, more successes than 1's or failures you succeed.

but werewolf was a horrid book, disorganized filled with refer to page XX's and just oogy to understand.

The cool part about WW was the golden rule (throw out the rules if they get in the way of the game.)

It was simple and fairly easy...
but the settings....

Everything Else / Someone broke into my house
« on: April 17, 2003, 04:41:31 PM »
Monday night, around midnight I was awakened by a noise. I had fallen asleep in the TV room and my fiance had gone into the bedroom to read (no doubt driven there by my snoring). So its pitch black in the house but I see a figure moving toward my kitchen. "Hon, what are you doing I said" kind of loudly because I have just woken up and I get cranky. The figure a person who looks to be about the same height and build of my fiance pauses and the heads into our study. I think to myself maybe she's just going to get some CD's or something when it hits me. That was not my Fiance.

You see on Sunday morning, around 2 o'clock, our neighbors down stairs were burglarized.  Monday night they came by to warn us. Astrid, My fiance and I joked a little about it. Their story didn't seem to fit what we had heard (Loud arguing) and so I had put it out of my mind. Untill then that is. I realized in an instant that there was someone strange in my house. Or rather leaving my house. I heard the venitian blinds rustle as whoever it was beat a rather hasty retreat out my study window. By the time I got there, they were gone. Shutting and locking the window I called the Police, who were there in five minutes. They got great prints, nothing was stolen (laptop and Computer stuff wasn't even touched).
I hope they catch whoever it was.

Im still not sure how I feel.

When I was living in Greensboro and working as a clerk in a Convience Store I was held up at knifepoint and that was a lot worse, but I still feel wierd.
Oddly this time I wasn't scared just surprised.

Is White Wolf petering out? All of their lines seem to have stagnated. Now they seem lost in an effort to out do every other book they have ever made.
Dont belive me read a copy of Demon: the fallen...

Hopefully this is the last ever WOD title because I dont see Bunnies the pink eyed Terror being that scary.

What's next from the WOD'ies?

This is a neat game, and customizable too (with blank cards)
Basically there are 4 types of card
1. Action Cards
2. Keepers
3. Goals
4. Rules

You win by matching the goal with your keepers, in a mad cap game where the rules can change every turn, Play four, no 1 no switch hands with the other players. Stratagy is only one half of the equation and dumb luck can end a game as fast as a brilliant play.

Give it a look today

SDC works in their games that dont have mega damage though.
And their revisons dont seem to incorperate any major changes. To be honest They also need to hire someone else to do layout.

I like Palladium Fantasy (even if it is a little boring)

Well just about every major RPG has gone through a Major revision in the last 10 years which addresses the basic problems of the game except palladium. I loved Robotech and thought Rifts was cool before it became a munchkins dream (around book 3). Unfortunately there is a very broken aspect of Palladiums system. Combat, its really a drag running a combat with palladiums rules....
For example In Robotech you had giant robots shooting each other with huge guns in the show one shot would turn a battlepod or Veritech to shards of flying metal, unless you happen to be playing Palladiums Robotech. A missle does a whopping 4d6 damage (on a 100 or 150 mdc Veritech almost no damage at all) a gun pod does 1d6 3d6 or 1d6 X10 (at the expense of all ammo). Now whens the last time you emptied a gatling gun into a jet and it took 3 reloads to bring it down. Multiply that by the hours of tedious combat and the fact that an sdc character can be killed by 1 MDC point but even a hundred sdc points (which are supposed to = an mdc point) wont kill a tank.  If you dont have mecha in Robotech killing a tank is well nigh impossible. A bazooka does 1d6 md and tanks rate at about 100 MDC.

arrrg and the Simbiada's dont think anythings broken....
Palladium RPG was ok since there were no MDC/SDC rules.

I loved TMNT and After The Bomb.
Palladium just needs a facelift.
