The one that first comes to mind:

http://www.amazon.com/Swords-Dark-Magic-Sword-Sorcery/dp/0061723819

My copy is currently sitting on a shelf at home in my TBR pile, though a reliable source has already commented on it...

Books / Re: longest book

We read it for book club (at church) a couple of years ago.  A few of us got the full version and some got the abridged version.  It made for some confusing discussion.  One girl showed up with the Cliffs Notes, and when I looked at it I realized that it was the Cliffs Notes of the abridged version.

ROFL!!!

That's just hilarious.  I so need to read this one.  Got a free e-book copy from Barnes&Noble a while ago.  I absolutely loved the Caviezel-version of the movie.

Actually, with about 18 months left to go before AMoL is supposed to be released and four books left in the series to finish reading before then, I'd say read CoT first, and maybe even KoD after that.  That way you'll see what RJ was able to finish, take a break from the Wheel as we all did after he passed (reading WoK and any others you might want to), and then pick up Brandon's co-written last three and hit em bang-bang-bang, all the way to the end.  If you're a big fan of Brandon's, I'd still get WoK now, to help with first-week sales and all though.  :)

I'm always a fan of hitting Amazon if I'm looking for a specific book.  Knife of Dreams hardcover, for instance, is $12 with free shipping if you spend more than $25.  Total deal.  Looks like the Gathering Storm hardcover is about $20 right now.  And Towers of Midnight pre-orders for $16.  Whoa.  If you can't get to a bookstore, try that instead.

No idea.  I have pretty much the same kind of cards in a box in my closet though.  :)  Funny world.

Sword of the Dawn by Moorcock
Queen of Sinister by Mark Chadbourn

Pretty sure I'm going to try for Horns by Joe Hill next.  Pretty excited to read it, as I enjoyed Heart-Shaped Box.  I'd also kind of like to read The Passage by Cronin, but that's a freaking huge book and I don't know if I can spare the time for it right now.

Wow.  So I just got a lot of good places to visit, and I freaking live here.  Awesome.

Pirate pizza by the 5-guys in Orem has awesome fresh-made potato chips. The pizza is okay if you like parmesan cheese.

My kid has been buggin me like mad to go to Pirate Pizza.  I think I just got some great incentive to go...

Bright of the Sky by Kay Kenyon. So far so good.

I liked about the first third of that one., tolerated the second third, and was annoyed by the third...uh...third.

You'll have to let me know what conclusion you come to.

Finished The Office of Shadow my Sturges.  Some good and some bad.  EBReview to come.

Picking up Tome of the Undergates by Sykes so I can get a review out on it before it gets released in September.   Really looking forward to this one.

Three.  Though two of them were really tough sells.  :)

So as long as we're talking release dates, Peter...

In January you mentioned that Towers of Midnight might get pushed back to Marchish 2011.  That still a possibility?  I noticed that he's posted 25% through the final draft.  Where does that put the publication schedule?

So Office of Shadow, so far, is heads and tails better than Midwinter.  In fact, I'm quite taken aback at just how DIFFERENT they are.  It's like two different people wrote them.  Seriously.  That, or this dude did a lot of "authorial maturing" between the two.

Finished the Price of Spring. Abraham is still awesome.

Absolutely true.  Can't wait for The Dragon's Path next year.  Ooh!

I thought it was completely awesome.  The only bit that didn't really mesh for me was the time differences between each dream level and how long everything they were doing on each level was taking to finish.  I was totally chomping on the reality bit though.  Loved the way they handled that part of the story.  And the ending was killer, as mentioned by Peter.  I'm wondering how many shows there were where the audience didn't all gasp when the screen went black.  MAN.  Great show.  Go see it peoples.

I've heard Smash Burger up in Orem is really good.  Haven't been there myself though.  It's about a 10 minute drive from BYU and easily found on Google.  J-dawgs at the south end of campus is awesome.  I'll definitely second that one.  There's always the In-N-Out up in Orem too.  Lotta people like 5 Guys as well (President O being one).  There's one of those up in Orem too.  I'm beginning to see a pattern here.  Why doesn't Provo have more good places to eat?  Sheesh.

And I just looked up Dragonsteel at the BYU library, but the book is missing.  They have some sort of circulation trace on it but I have no idea how long it's been gone.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on that one.
