Term Exams are over, I have a 5 day weekend in which I have no responsibilities, and I've hit a total brick wall. :'( I have no inspiration whatsoever. :'( :'(   I've gotten up to 16,000, and the story feels like it's almost finished. I'm not sure I'll be able to go through with the rest of the story, much less show it to people.

But, also, a lot of bookstores have things where they have big parties and then release the book at Midnight. I, myself, normally buy 2 or 3 books while I wait. Standing in a bookstore with nothing to read would be a drag. :'( So, if MB2 comes out before then, that's probably when I'd get it.
I know several other people who do the same thing, but then most of my friends still have their parents paying for everything. Hmm.... Anyway, just giving an outsider's perspective.

I am awesomely happy because, in a surprise conversation with one of my teachers yesterday, She told me that I did a "good job" on My Essay/Exam. :) :D
She only says good job if it is a 95 or above. ;D 8)

That is totally and completely awesome in every comprehendable way! ;D ;D:lol: And, SE, I guessed that all half-elf meant that i'd just get Illuman ancestors, and relatives. I was putting in an option for Politic Stuff involving family members, if'n I need it.

I've decided I'll be an old [around 120? is that old?] half-elven half-Illumen female Darkmage and Necromancer. I'll take to my Elven side. Intelligence, Mental Strength, and Dark or Necromantic Magic are my strong points; not very fast, weaker body. Neutral Magics can be a secondary skill. I don't know enough to specify any more. And so, I beseech the great and all powerful E to make my stats. :'( Pwease??

I would, but am deathly afraid that I'll get a panic attack if I go on there and see people who actually write well. My story is simple: swords, souls of their own, dreamtime thing, bearers dying out ,they're dying out, oh no, etc. I actually have a large paper trail on it, but I'm not sure I could endure your criticisms. :-[   I actually decided to base it around a Japanese-Indianish Culture, beacause you only really [in my experience] seem to get talking swords in Arabian Nights and Western Stories.

Books / Re: Black Powder War
« on: October 19, 2006, 11:12:12 PM »
I totaly just put the book down by the time they were about to reach their first oasis. I really didn't want another boring travel story. But I persevered. And, I think that if Novik should have made 1 of 2 choiches, either to cut all the travel, or go a lot more in depth. I personally would prfer the second. The descriptions of the desert and the areas of the Feral dragons could have made very interesting liittle side stories. The wars are exiting, though. I kept pulling out the teacher's edition History book I got as a going away present from my 8th grade teacher, and tracking down this or that battle. I almost cried, even with the disjointed feeling thing, when [spoiler!] the boy and the dragon died. :'( And the Fire-breather promisises to be a great character in the next book. I'm reaaly hoping, though, that the Author stays in Europe with the plague book she is writing at the moment. I knew when we first see the Canadian Dragon that he would be important, I just didn't know how.

Thanks, Midnyht.  Robin Hobb is great.  Be aware, however, those books don't follow a traditional 'epic fantasy' plot, which is part of what makes them so great.  They are really just focused on Fitz and a person and his life.

The more I read by Hobb, the better she gets.

Other than her Second Son Series, the first book of which seemed to be from an entirely different author. It reminded me that even addictive prose writers have to get a little writer's block sometime.

Everything Else / Question for the great and powerful Gemm.

Hey Gemm, I have had a major writers block for like, 2 months, but I read this old article you posted on and woke up with a few ideas for it.http://www.timewastersguide.com/boards/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=twig;action=display;num=1077596534;start= do you mind if I use this idea? I'll only use the magic bit, no ideas that actually made it to TW(I)G.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the death of M.Corsetti. :'( Shooting yourself with your dad's shotgun is NOT something anyone sane would do. I considered making an EMO/totally depressed topic to put this in. I went to my friend's house today because she knew him so well, and she had convinced herself he was selfish for doing it, but that it was somehow her fault for not going out with him. :'( *sigh**sniffle*

Depressing. :'(
