Books / Re: Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov

This may be a dead thread by now or not exactly on the point.  I never did read the book, but I did see the movie a few years back (seven or so) and I remember enjoying it quite a bit.  Now this thread makes me want to try the book...

you don't remember me but i remember you
i lie awake and try so hard not to think of you
but who can decide what they dream?
and dream i do...

i believe in you
i'll give up everything just to find you
i have to be with you to live to breathe
you're taking over me

have you forgotten all i know
and all we had?
you saw me mourning my love for you
and touched my hand
i knew you loved me then

i believe in you
i'll give up everything just to find you
i have to be with you to live to breathe
you're taking over me

i look in the mirror and see your face
if i look deep enough
so many things inside that are just like you are taking over

Okay, so I've never really been able to get into Halo, I just don't seem to have the patience for it, but I too almost cried at the end of FFX and I am woman (hear me roar).  I actually did cry in FF VII when what's her name dies....Sorry it's 2:30 am and not thinking properly.

Site News / Re: Introduce yourself - right on!
« on: June 05, 2006, 08:06:36 PM »
Hello all. テつ I'm Megan, I live in Sandy Utah, and I found this site the other night while I was fighting another round of insomnia (lost terribly I might add). テつ

I'm not very fond of describing myself (though if you have any questions feel free to ask), but I'm what you might call a closet geek about all this stuff. テつ I openly love computer based rpg's, such as Final Fantasy. テつ I'm a huge fan of StarWars, Farscape, and such. テつ I also love the Robert Jorden series "The Wheel of Time". テつ But have not been able to get into other types of rpg's and the like, though would like to.

I love movies, books, writing, acting, and a guilty pleasure of mine is karaoke (don't knock it till you try it). テつ Though except for movies and karaoke haven't been able to get into alot of much lately. テつ I'm hoping this site will stimulate those lost/hidden passions of mine. テつ

*****Update****** テつ I'm currently doing rehersals for Peter Pan (get to be a Pirate, Yay!) at the Academy for Performing Arts, which is a non-profit family theater. テつ It is going to be a fun show, especially for you (I meant to say for your kids, but I guess "you kids" works as well, eh?) kids. テつ Come help out the arts community! テつ It runs Aug 11th thru Sept 9th, with Monday, Friday, and Saturday shows starting at 7:30. テつ For more info, check out their website at http://www.academyofpa.org/index.html************

Rants and Stuff / Re: What is the most nerd-est thing you have ever
« on: June 05, 2006, 05:06:50 AM »
Besides joining this site, the most recent nerdy thing I've done was having a Starwars marathon. Watching 1-6 straight in a row (even through in the Clone Wars) while at the same time trading off in playing Starwars Trivia, Starwars Monopoly, and Starwars Chess.
