I think I was more responding to 42 than you, SE.  Though, to be honest, I was partially responding to my own inclinations.  It seems that we are all generally too quick to jump on anything that seems too mainstream.

?  From my perspective, he's generally very up-front about the fact that he's probably not going to do any of the things everybody wants him to.

Just don't expect me to let myself get sucked into any sort of historical war argument again.  Learned my lesson last time....

Ah, but the point of my post--dear Gemm--was to note a similarity.  If Piro thinks Love Hina is one of the best mangas of all time, then anyone remotely familiar with Megatokyo will understand what kind of comic it is.

He's also Tage and my GM.  Nice chap.  Just blew a wad on a PC so he could play Dark Age of Camelot.  Once he gets his photography site up and running, you should all go look at his pictures.

Muwwahaha.  My see how my evil powers turn forum member against forum member?

Yes, I am back.  Grad school demanded a lot of my time this year, as did several authorial issues.  However, for the summer at least, I shall return.

I'm Brandon Sanderson--author, philanthropist, Evil Overlord.

Sprig is my brother, and Tage is my roommate.  I divide my time between teaching creative writing and freshman comp at BYU, working on my Master's Degree, and writing.

My first published novel, ELANTRIS, will be released by Tor Books in May of 2005.  It sure would be nifty if you'd buy a copy.  If you don't, I'll have to send Entropy to your house to beat you up.

Like Vishnu, I am everywhere and nowhere at once.  You shall see me but you shall not know me.  I am the forespoken participant in the unirrelevant intricacies of the forum environment.

Check snopes.  They have a whole catagory dealing with Disney urban legends.  The Little Mermaid problem was indeed a real issue, though the artist talks about it on Snopes, explaining his embarassment.  He was hired just to do the cover of the video release, and apperantly wasn't paying much attention to what he was drawing...

Anyway, I'll defend Disney.  Yes, they changed the original stories.  So did Shakespeare.  The finished product may not be very similar to the original, but the product itself isn't half bad.  I watched their movies.  While some of them--admittedly--were unwatchable, those bombs are few.  Most Disney fair is entertaining.  Not ground-breaking, but very little out of Hollywood is.

Despite it all, I'm going to have to throw my vote for Battlefield Earth.  It just was really, really terrible.  It beat out even the Dungeons and Dragons movie.

I believe there's an old saying that warns against two miltary ideas:

First, never get involved in a land war in Asia.  Second, never get in an argument with Mustard about World War II.

I realize this was way back, but I took the personality test.  I figured several people would be amused at the result.

I'm listening to Meteora, which Sprig kindly loaned to me.

It's too bad to hear about that Evanescence CD.  Most of the reviews have been lukewarm.  It was still number six on the charts this week, though.  All the reviews warn not to expect NuRock, except Bring me to Life.  Maybe I'll have to borrow it from you, Sprig.

Mine's pretty current, though I'm probably not much of an editor of anything any more.  Maybe that will change during the summer.
