Dangit, Steve, now I'm hungry and can't be satisfied by anything that isn't a jalapeno bacon burger. And yes, the addition of cheese only makes the craving worse. Let me see what I have for lunch...ah, ramen again. I hate you.

Steve: I don't believe you. Stop playing with my heart!

Stridera: I need a mixture of hibiscus nectar and orphans' tears, served in one of those plastic honey bottles shaped like a bear.

Don't ask silly questions.

That's a rip. I got some bound galleys yesterday and they look subtly different; I suspect the art department is still tweaking the design.

I just got word today that the US cover is done, and I should have an image of it to post for you soon. As for the release schedule, expect the US versions to come out about every 6 months or so. Same with the German. That means the second one will arrive in fall of 2010, and the third will be out in Spring of 2011 in both the US and the UK, right about the same time. Which also means I need to get the edits finished on it ASAP.

The official date for the UK release of Mr. Monster will probably be in early March; I will arrive a week or two afterward to do a UK signing tour. Also, and this is very cool, it's likely that the German release of Mr. Monster will also be in March, to line up with the Leipzig book fair, but that's still up in the air. We'll see what happens.

Horseradish isn't for everyone, but some of us like turpentine and bleach.

You had me at bacon ravioli, but then when you added horsey sauce I became a true believer.

Steve the Bookstore Guy is no longer going for sure; in fact, I believe he is for sure not going. If any of you happen to be good pals (or evil nemeses) of Steve's boss, try to convince him to let Steve have some time off for vacation.

Sigyn, local author Julie Wright has talked about going to World Fantasy, so that's a possibility. I haven't talked to her recently, but I'll see if I can get a confirmation.

Ookla: EJS does not, typically, share rooms at cons, but you never know.

UtBaIBG: The selfish part of me says "yes, you should come to World Fantasy" without even pausing to consider if it would be useful for you or not. So, you know, there's that. The more sedate aspects of my personality take time to pause and reflect and decide that, yes, it probably would be useful for you; it is at World Fantasy, after all, that Brandon and I met our editor. World Fantasy is kind of like Superconcentrated WorldCon, with all the pros and about 5% of the fans, and not a costume in sight. It's far easier to find and talk to editors, and the whole vibe is simultaneously more relaxed and more professional. Finally, if you don't believe me, here's what David Hartwell said at the Stoker conference when someone asked him about selling your first book: "Go to cons and meet editors. World Fantasy is a great one because, despite the name, it has editors from all genres, from all the major houses and a lot of the small ones." Plus, you know, there's roleplaying in the car.

I know Brandon's going to DragonCon. I won't be this year, but I'd like to start next year.

And Will, I'd be happy to offer some "con maxizimation" advice. Let me think of the best way to do it.
