Cinder:  You're in Utah, right?  I'm wary of sending off e-copies of books to people I don't know--since it would take them all of three clicks to stick the entire text on-line.  However, I'd be more than happy to get the physical copy to you sometime, so you could do an alpha-read for me.

Yep, I'm in Utah. I completely understand why you're wary of sending e-copies. Of course, if you did know me, you'd know I have no idea how to do any HTML stuff or make web sites. I know how to send and open attachments and paste stuff in emails, but I'm no webmaster.

But anyway, I would really love to be an alpha-reader. Yet I spoke too soon. As usual with me, I've piled my plate really high with various projects, so I don't have much time to add other stuff. :'(

And, actually, I didn't expect you'd be willing to trust an "unknown" like me with a copy! (Nothwithstanding my musical spoofing talents.) It's cool for you to offer, though! So I'm definitely sorry I can't take you up on doing a read--at least not for a month or two, if then.

it would be a woman, naked or in a swimsuite that would lay out on the table and the food would be placed on her stomach and other parts of her body.  Then people would eat it off of her.

I guess no one else saw the "CSI: Miami" episode where a gal working as a sushi table poisoned one of the clients with blowfish poison-infused fingernail polish! It was pretty crazy.

This female customer was, well, too "interested" in the sushi geisha. Feeling justifiably harrassed, this sushi geisha dediced to take matters into her own hands. So she poisoned her fingernail polish and put sushi on the back of her hand (besides other places) because she knew this creepy woman would use her mouth to get the sushi.

The CSI guys only figured it out after finding a teeny piece of fingernail polish stuck in the vic's teeth. Ugh! They figured out what type of poison it was and gave the sushi geisha a visit.

Anyway, I wouldn't have believed this naked sushi restaurant thing if I hadn't seen that. Crazy stuff.

it's actually worst when they're in your back. That hurts.

Huh? IN her back? What, e, you want Chimera to be your cookie "mule"? No dope involved, just a nice batch of cookies tucked in where  the cookie dogs can't sniff them out?

You haven't read Elantris yet?

I agree with you there. (Besides, I wasn't making any claim about WHY he was crying, just that he was crying. So at this point in time he was more sad than angry.)

ok, yeah, but is it out of sadness that he cuts Master Windu's arm off? and he's looking pretty onery when he marches into the Jedi Temple.

Well, weren't we talking about him killing the younglings? He's just crying there.

Yeah, Ookla's got a very good point. Too bad EUOL couldn't read a little of both. But a half hour isn't all that much time, really.

Hmm. Oops. I should've edited my post better. Darn grammar. I wasn't saying he was sorrowful at those moments. I was saying that UP UNTIL when he attacks Padme and Obi-Wan, he's sad but not really angry.

(i.e. Anakin only gets really angry--instead of sorrowful--at the very end when talking to Padme on the lava planet and then dueling Obi-Wan)

Yeah, this is a fun thread, isn't it? Not too bad of a response to a first-ever post, eh?

So . . . as much as I enjoyed ELANTRIS, if I were able to be at the CON, I would definitely want to get a sneak preview of MISTBORN.

Yeah, okay, I'll give you that he does hesitate and he is more concerned w/ Padme than his kid(s).  (How pathetic was his reaction to Padme telling him the news? Now there's a happy papa-to-be). But I guess I feel like the whole "give in to your anger" aspect of the Dark Side is practically nonexistent in ep3 whereas in ep2, he kills all the sandpeople out of anger and hate.  Anakin only really gets angry rather than sorrowful at the very end when talking to Padme on the lava planet and then dueling Obi-Wan

Oh, and everything Anakin said before he stopped Windu was his way of trying to convince Mace.  Using an argument he thought would work on Mace.  "Its not the Jedi Way" "Capture him" etc...
It had Nothing to do with his motivation.  Anakin didnt give a frell about the Jedi way at that point.  He had set that asside when he left the Council chamber to stop the attack.
He NEEDED Palpantine for his own selfish intrests.  That was all

Yes, I agree with Oseleon although, at first, I was of the same mind as EUOL on this. It seemed totally implausible for him to protest Mace killing Palpy outright and then to just kneel down like a whipped boy and pledge alleigance to the Sith Lord. But then I reconsidered. I think he was just trying to have it both ways by appealing to Mace's Jedi code. Anakin wanted to keep Palpy alive but he also didn't want to give up all his ties to being a Jedi just yet. So his killing of Mace is a powerful turning point YET it just seemed so weird to have him act completely listless and obedient after killing out of passion.
I DO however still have a problem with Anakin killing the "younglings." I think his progression to the dark side was too sudden in this respect. After all, he's trying to save his own youngling(s).  But all in all, I think Ep3 is the best of the prequels. Why: Less plot problems, a silent Jar Jar :D, and darker story.

Great. Thanks Fell. I'm buying the DVd when it comes out on the 31st. I want to watch it again before I write about it. But I'll send you the review that week.

Count me in--if that's okay. I've never written a published review, per se. But if I sent in a sample and you guys liked it, maybe I could review the Saints & Soldiers movie? I think it's one of the finest examples of "Mormon cinema."  Unless someone else has first dibs on that . . . .

Sounds good to me, Skar. But I was thinking . . . maybe Chimera should add a fourth choice--she could jump up on a chair at random moments and draw a whole bunch of Aons in thin air.  After all, who could possibly blame her for trying to perfect the art of drawing Aons in front of the master?

Discretion is always wise--especially when approaching a potentially rabid squirrel or a potentially crazed stalker.
But yes, I am Heather, so I do have a right to blow noisy kisses at EUOL in an attempt to distract or embarrass him.

Right on! However, a note of caution to this tale: one must also use discretion when approaching authors, for they possess the uncanny predeliction towards modeling certain characters after real-life acquaintances at whom the author wishes to poke fun.  ::)

But since you're EUOL's sweetie, Chimera, let's hope that he has more sense than to do that! Otherwise he might become EULOL (Evil Undead Lonely Over Lord).

That said, I'll definitely have to vote for B. But I'm torn between that and A. Who could resist a Seon? Give me a Seon over a personal robot anyday.
