Books / Robin Hobb
« on: July 12, 2011, 04:24:53 AM »
Hi, I have some questions about Robin Hobb.

I have heard many things about Robin Hobb and have been considering reading her work for quite a while.  I have heard absolutely great things about some of her works and then terrible things about others.  It seems like her work is fairly controversial as far as how people enjoy it.  I would like to know your guys' opinions on this.  Which of her books are great?  Which of her book are less than great?  Where should I start with her books?  Content warning?  Anyways, thank you guys so much!

Brandon Sanderson / Shards of WoK ***Spoilers****
« on: May 22, 2011, 05:30:43 PM »
Hi, I've just been reading the subject of the Cosmere Discussion and there has been a lot of talk about Roshar.  Recently, there was talk about a shard called, Honor, I believe.  I don't ever remember hearing about this Honor.  Could someone clarify please.  The only ones I've heard of are The Almighty (whose shardholder name I cannot remember but I remember it being long and complicated and only the Ardents are supposed to know), Rayse (Odium) and Cultivation (who is in Shinovar.  So can someone please help me out with the clarifying the shard Honor?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Brandon Sanderson / Brandon Fan's in Coloardo--Mission somewhat
« on: January 11, 2011, 05:46:32 AM »
Okay, so if you live in Colorado you know that we haven't seen Brandon in a while.  Well, I had an idea that if I can find all of his friends in Denver-area/ Coloardo and we e-mail him about coming to see us maybe he can ask Tor if he can come visit Denver on the Alloy of Law or  A Memory of Light tour.  So calling all Colorado fans, lets band togethor!

Brandon Sanderson / Cosmere Timeline * Slight Spoilers for all books*
« on: October 13, 2010, 03:57:49 AM »
Hey everyone, I just finished the Way of Kings and have read all of the books in the Cosmere so far.  I was wondering does anyone know the timeline of the Cosmere in which all these books take place?  For example if:  ******SPOILERS*********** WoK took place before Elantris could Odium be the cause of the Reod*******End of SPOILERS**********  Just stuff like that I just want to know when in the total time of the books written so far have all the stories taken place.  I know this is a big question for all the super-fans out there ( I'm not part of that group yet but trying hard to gain enough knowledge).  Thanks all!

Brandon Sanderson / I'm confused with Adonalsium. Can anyone help me?
« on: September 27, 2010, 04:20:22 AM »
Okay I have a few questions.  I 'm a big fan of Brandon's but am still needing to get a grasp on the whole Adonalsium thing.  Not that you guys haven't been a  GIANT help so far.  Here are my questions:

1) How did you guys find out about all this Adonalsium and stuff?
2) What's the basic background of Adonalsium, the Cosmere and Hoid ( with WoK spoilers)?
3) What are the shards so far and what are their powers and such ( without WoK spoilers)?

P.S- Thank you and sorry for troubling you guys about the WoK spoilers and, it's just that i"m almost halfway through and I don't want the ending spoiled.  I think you guys understand.

Books / J.V.Jones
« on: February 28, 2010, 03:34:42 PM »
Hey, I was wondering if J.V.Jones was worth reading.  I've been considering her books for quite some time now.  I was going to read the Book of Words series first since it was completed but I think I might end up reading Sword of Shadows first.  If anyone could tell me which series is more fast-paced and action-filled and which one they perfer it would be greatly appreciated.

Books / Maria V. Snyder or other reccomendations.
« on: January 31, 2010, 01:31:09 AM »
Hi everybody I was wondering if anybody had ever read any Maria V. Snyder books.  They sound really well thought out and have a good fantasy element and I was wondering if anyone could recommend one to me.  I know her books but just haven't read them, should I read The Study series, Glass series, or Inside-Out.  If anyone could recommend one to me it would be much appreciated.  Also I'm open to other fantasy book suggestions as well.
