Your recommending systems to make rules with because those systems are very rules lite? Doesn't that kind of defeat the point, since in Fate it's literally just a word on the sheet. No distinction is made between 'Sword' and 'Small Vegetable'.  Also, Exalted is an infamously poor combat system, due to it's glacial pace.

That's why I think Pewter should be broken down into multiple buffs. So that a thug could choose to spend points on raising his BAB, or one of his saves, or on various physical skills. Seperate buffs that cost individual amounts each turn. An all-physical buff is not only overpowered but really boring.

And I still think you overstate how difficult it would be in D20. I'm half tempted to start whipping it up myself now.

Why would a mob boss have a crummy NYC apartment?

Radman is scary. Not a dude you wanna be around, no matter how nice he is.

Matt and FBI chick are so gonna hook up, later on. Or at least that's what FBI chick wants.

Nathan's point about his superpower being kinda useless was funny.

I think you could make it quite interesting with more detailed rules, but I'm not sure how you'd go about the task. Possibly start with the D&D SRD, and start layering allomancy rules on the top - D&D already has notes on different composition materials and a incredibly in-depth magic system. Remove the magic system, add a 'material' column to the weapon, armour and equipment charts.

The actual allomancy itself... I'm tempted to go for a Psionics route. Your Allomancer class * level and some other stuff (CHA for zinc, CON for pewter, DEX for steel and iron, for example) help determine your maximum possible expenditures of power points (both total and per attack); vials create your power point reserves.

Of course, it only gets more confusing past this point. The mental stuff could be waved away with simple effects but that would undermine their effect possibly. The various stuff you can do with the external physicals practically calls for a whole new set of combat rules. Pewter is easy enough - self buffs are hardly new things in D&D. You could make it fairly complicated, allowing players to assign individual stat buffs (or BAB / AC / save bonuses) on a per-turn basis, if you wanted.

* Seperate base classes for each of the metals and for Mistborn. Mistborn as Prestige Classes doesn't entirely work, unless you want to do it that way to show peoples speciality (Kell's mastery of steel/iron).

So yeah, I think that a complicated rules set for Mistborn would be fairly rewarding. The D&D stuff above is just for an example, but I don't think it would be an unbearably difficult task for any system.

I don't know if we know enough to speculate about Niki. I'm still baffled as to why Inik hates DL enough to screw him over. Fell makes the case that Inik is working for glasses man, on account of the tattoo. Really my main question is, 'why leave the $2mil sitting around all this time?' Her motivations elude me.

Slyar and his relationship with glasses man are also important - did Pixie have Slyars apartment cleaned out? If so, why is glasses man protecting Slyar?

I think that Glasses man is the key, and until we know what he's up to and with who any speculation is just shots in the dark. He seems to be trying to get Claire to admit her powers to him, possibly so he can experiment on her without doing it against her will. An interesting mix of being the bad guy and being a father, I feel.

(Paul) Sylar is being played by Sean Bean. So that answers that question. And apparently the trend of 'British actor = villain' continues.

No, i wasn't complaining that there was an airfield. I was complaining that they didn't use them to scout over denver or nearby towns. This show keeps doing things like that: ignoring obvious solutions to problems in order to make them look bigger.

They'd be NPCs -- npcs you couldn't really hurt, like Lord Britain in the original Ultima.

Someone hacked the server and killed Lord Britain with a fireball during a major ceremony once.

Claires dad is a faction independant from Syler is my feeling atm. And I think Syler just has TK - we have seen him pin people up with household objects (TK), force someone to put their gun to their own head (moving the arm via TK) and survive being shot at (we never actually saw him being hit, so that could be anything or just a 'shield' of TK). Finally we saw him jumping up really fast and he somehow made it into the FBI basement. I'm not sure on the last two, but everything else i'm happy to attritube to TK.

Peter actually drew the future after visiting Issac, but I can't remember what he drew. It was a pencil drawing of some sort I think?

And I suspect Issac's relationship with heroin is complicated and will dog the cast for some time to come, along with Niki/Nathans mob connections and the growing list of crimes commited by the characters.

I don't see the previews, which is probably for the best.

I liked Claire driving the car into the wall. That was a satisfying end to that little storyline (though I hope they spend more time on the repercussions, unlike the autopsy which sort of resolved itself with a hint of anti-climax).

Niki's alter ego (referred to as 'Inik' at a recap site I read) was surprisingly low-key. Not sure what I expected though. No physical changes that I could see, though the tattoo wasn't visible when she was lying in the bed.

Nathan Petrelli: a bigger dick than superman.

More analysis later!

It depends on how severe the war is. The 3 decade underground hideouts are for the aftermath of a full-scale nuclear war (ie, if the Cuban Missile Crisis went even more wrong). There would be a nuclear winter, so most life would die off, and there would likely be clouds of radioactive dust for years afterwards.

But Jericho isn't about that. It's had around 10 explosions, scattered far and wide. The towns main problems stem from their sudden isolation and general unpreparedness for the situation. Radioactivity from that blast would have reduced to 1% of it's initial lethal levels within a fortnight, or so i've read. Still, it's safe to say that town might have a very high cancer rate within a decade odd.

I'm watching it via the powers of bittorrent. I agree with stacer - poor writing in places (the mayor didn't realise that gasoline would be crucial and took steps to preserve it?) but the concept is gold.

The shows writer/creator says that it's designed to be a hopeful story about how humans can come together and deal with a crisis, rather than a doom&gloom story about people's hair falling out and bodies in the streets.

I'm really liking it. My favourite characters are the cop and the single mom, so far. Normal people with scary powers. Though Hiro is pure comedy gold, of course.

Is the black chick in NYC the same lass who played Zoe from Firefly?
