...Which is recited by Mr. Crowley in IANASK.

Not sure if this is thread necromancy, but I just finished the book yesterday, so...

I loved the whole, "Dr. Neblin wasn't killed by an axe" exchange.  And all of the banter between Brooke and John delighted me.  Was it just me, or was John more socially competent around her?

Well, Nathan Fillion and NPH are both good choices.  They both have Lightsong's wit, but I think they can both do serious.  The only thing, I wonder about which one would make the better God...  Based on build alone, I'd say Fillion.  That's just me.

NPH I can totally see as Denth.  Or maybe that's just Dr. Horrible clouding my mind.

And last, we can have Summer Glau as Vivenna, and Ellen Page as Siri.   ;D

This may be a French-tainted world, yet doesn't it make sense that 'Valette' would sound similar to 'baguette'?  The French don't disregard ALL 't's, I'm fairly certain.

Like Drew, I haven't read your earlier work.  But I really get a clear idea from the first chapter (how do you pronounce Nmae, anyway?) what the magic system is like.  I'm assuming it has to do with the 'tones' Nmae heard above the castle?

But then we have Bending, which may or may not be related to the 'tones'.  So that'll be interesting to see if there's a connection or not.

And I like the wings in the first chapter; it's just a cool image in my head, but I think there's so much you can do with. I think you should hint at Nmae's motivation, however.

I got the first Mistborn book as a birthday present and loved it.  So I've been trying to read as much of his work as I can.

Yeah; did you have to bludgeon them over the head to read it?

Kidding, of course, I guess my friends aren't as hard-wired for these kind of books like I am...

There were bits where the dialogue was confusing for me....  I wasn't sure whether it was Jin or Burm speaking.

Also, whether Jalean is dead or not will probably be revealed later, but... in case it isn't, I wasn't able to catch it.  Is Burm right, does he know something Jin doesn't, or is he trying to deny she's dead?

So could we say that the Dor and Breath are somehow related as well?

Do you think that Brandon's magic systems are so closely interlaced, that perhaps it's on purpose?  Like Hoid and the Shards of Andolasium?  That perhaps the systems are some kind of 'sister magics'?

Or perhaps I'm reading too far into this.

But that leads into how far the magic systems are entrenched within the shards...

Alright, I might as well put in my fan-quirks here...

1.  Everybody who knows me knows about Mistborn, because I obsess about it often.

2. I've actually said, "Brandon Sanderson is MY Hero Of Ages."

3.  Also, "He's the Kelsier to my Vin/Obi Wan to my Luke!"

4.  I've had Mistborn shoes commissioned for me.

5. I really want the Allomantic symbol jewellry.  Or an Aon pendant.

6. I am an avid student of Writing Excuses.

7. I'm afraid to try drawing his characters, because I might ruin them.

8. I have, however, done both Elantris and Mistborn fanfiction.

Those are my top reasons...  I'm sure I have a few more, minor quirks, but these are the worst ones I could think of...

Alright.
I don't know how much use my thoughts will be, since I'm a little bit behind on the rest of your chapters...  I read your little synopsises, and that helped, but...

I like the female-centric society you create, and I certainly hope that Jin does well in his next chapter.  Again: despite the typos, it seems to work pretty well.  The end scene with Jalean is a bit confusing; I'm assuming she was killed by the hesk, but there's no specific mention.  And that was probably the biggest thing for me.

Woo!   ;D

I especially love the Othello part.

What's our resolution?  EVERYBODY DIES!  Really made me proud of myself for having read it.

I watched those...  I thought they were interesting, and helped my basic outlining.

And Dan reminds me a bit of my old math teacher.  Except I actually paid attention to Dan's seminars.   :D
