Is this the beginning of a Cosmere where's waldo?

Sounds like it.

It's pretty badass. I think I would've liked a little more realism though, and a little less abstraction.

Perhaps it's not about death. It may be about some sort of separation within the Shard. After all, both Ruin and Preservation have their bodies/power manifest themselves in the mortal world. And the Allmighty kind of has... everything separated from him. We don't know enough about Endowment to back up that claim, but it could be that the divine breath is a part of him.

Without being neither Peter, nor Brandon, I can still give you some answers :)

1. All we know so far is in Tor's article.
2. None - except maybe Sazed and Marsh. The Allow of Law takes place about 300 years after the events of Mistborn, so all of our friends are kind of... well, dead.
3. Lighter, definitely.
4. Technology is on a level close to late 19th century, if I recall correctly. Firearms exist (in fact, one of the first things Brandon told us about the book was that there would be a pistols duel between Allomancers (or Twinborns, I'd guess)), but I don't know about automobiles. I think they have steam though.

We know for a fact that all of Brandon's books follow the same set of magic "physics," and he himself has said that the magic systems across different planets have some things in common - only we don't know what it is yet. For all we know, it may be that magic is created from the death of a god/Shard/Shardholder.

So, yea, there is definitely a relationship between the magical laws all around the Cosmere - that's the idea :)

I don't know about the grass. Roshar is a very different world from ours, and life there seems to be able to thrive on much less than our own flora and fauna. Unless there is a detailed description (which is possible) of the plateaus, we might as well assume they are all covered with short and sturdy grass. Of the kind that pulls back and away from animals stepping on top of it.

Yea, we talked about it somewhere. One of the popular theories was that since we know that the mists are Preservation's body (kind of), and the stormlight is associated with the Almighty (who is also dead), we may have a running motif where some of the worlds' magical energies are there because some god/Shardholder has died.

Miyabi, I thought they'd be more red/brown too. I guess that's what I imagine when I think "barren rocky plateaus."

And, DomainWalker, my good man, you still refuse to change the plateaus elevation levels :P I am not sure why that's the first thing I notice every time, but you can feel free to tell me to storm off now :)

Noice! I'm lovin' it very much. I hate to admit it, but the mistcloaks have always looked a little funny to me - distracting even. I find this image of Vin much more appealing than her typical one (with the cloak).

I am definitely looking forward to seeing more art from you!

Man, that was a close one...

You should probably acquaint yourself with George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Sanderson is a big fan of it, and they are good books for any fantasy reader to have in their collection. Jon Snow is actually a fairly popular (main) character from the series, and I admit that I would vote for him against almost any other character from the tournament.

This looks better, I think. You still need to make the different plateaus have different heights though :)

On a side note, it's nice to see somebody actually working and making progress on a piece of fan art.

*Spoilers*

Atium's gone anyway, it wouldn't matter if you were born an atium misting because it wouldn't do you any good. Neat idea, though.

*** MORE SPOILERS ***

Atium is not gone. Somewhere in one of the books - I think when Kelsier was destroying the Pits - it was mentioned (or implied) that atium doesn't just go away when you burn it. It kind of finds its way back to the Pits, where it forms new geodes after a few hundred years.

Ink's response was very much what I was going to mention as well. My only addition is that the plateaus seem a little too much like a grid - little variance in size and shape. This may be an illusion created by the fact that the two plateaus that are the focus of the entire image look to be about the same size though.

Just something to think about :)

P.S. Toss a Highstorm somewhere in the background, for additional badass :)
