You might try Michael A. Stackpoles Dragon Crown Cycle (1+3 Books) or his "Age of Discovery" series (3 books). Good reading.

Books / Re: Terry Pratchett and Discworld

I too, read all the discworld books, plus the  Bromiliad trilogy, the Carpet people, Nation, the "Johnny" series, Dark Side of the Sun, Strata, the Tiffany spin -off (Crivens!) and of course Good Omens. I can recommend them all without a second thought.
Also, for those of you who like a bit of real science (non fiction) I HIGHLY recommend the "Sience of Discworld"-books. They are brilliant. Imagine the Wizards at UU trying to make sense of our world. (the books are divided into 2 alternating sections, short Discworld paragraphs and true explanations).

The only book from Pratchett that I have yet to read is "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents" but I'll get to that eventually.

I you like "happy" Metal, I recommend Edguy. German band with some awesome songs. Also, check out "Avantasia". That's a "rock opera" done as a project album by the lead singer of Edguy. Way cool.

I love the game, finished it with a human mage and am now replaying it with a dwarf noble origin. I really really look forward to see how this origin will play out in the Orzammar story line.

I am jealous. Reading that book for the first time is just awesome.

Nation is great.

I stumbled upon a book with an unusual cover and went for it.

Bad Monkeys by Matt Ruff.

Rather entertaining if you like your stories twisted :)

You might have to consider that Eragon was written by a 15 year old, who had never been to a public school (home taught by his parents I think) and had only his fantasy stories to get "out".  The book is ok, a light read, but there is no polish. Not great, but then, not terrybad. :)
