Is Hoid a character in Elantris, Warbreaker, and Mistborn? *goes to investigate other forums*

Yup. Hoid is one of the things connecting all the books. When he is described it's always very similar and mysterious. He's always helped somebody in the books. That's usually the give away.

Edit: Removed idiocy.

I don't think he'll do something like a cheat sheet, though. It'll probably be a book that goes through all the other books or something -- not just a simple "This is what is" because that's kinda lame.

I wasn't really implying it would be a cheat sheet, I was implying it could be any number of things that I can't predict.  :D

A cheat sheet would be pretty lame.

OR! ... A human is comprised of three parts, a body, a mind, and a spirit. All three manifest in the physical realm.

What's to say that the three parts of a human aren't ALWAYS existing in the three separate realms? Wouldn't that make sense considering what the three realms are? Merely transference from one to another could be anyhing.
I don't think so. I keep picturing these realms as parallel universes that interact. Things can be transferred from one to another, but existing in more than one realm at once without magical means doesn't make sense to me.

I see your point. I'll concur. You win this time sir!  :D

Here's a picture of indivisible Peter.

Love it.

Fortunately for the rest of the world, I can't come up with any fun ones. Shows how great my vocabulary has grown.

What if that gate we think needs to be held OPEN (nightblood theory) is already always open. Merely being closed by the sheath. My backup to that would be the squirrel that Lightsong awakens.. that creature has some semblance of personality and brain power, hence why you can give it a more complex command then say a bunch of sticks. But where is that brain power coming from if not from the cognitive realm? Sure as heck ain't the thing's dead brain doing it.  :D

My brain feels good. It's active today.

I honestly doubt Brandon will ever come out and explain everything that is in the cosmere.

At a signing, I asked Brandon if there was going to be anything that would tie all of the books in the Cosmere together and he said that with as many books as he has planned (somewhere around 36 or so) a lot of information would be there, but that he did plan on something that would tie it all together.  He didn't say whether it would be a book or what, tho.

Well that slapped me in the face. Really tho? He would honestly write all this info that so many people have speculated about into a book or online cheat sheet or something? Seems kind of unfair to the people who have scraped through the pages and pieced it together. But in the end, it's not about the hardcore fans as much as it's about the mass of people who will read his books. ( that sounds like a insult in my head but I don't mean it to be )

There are definately some great threads in here that start from the beginning, back before anybody KNEW anything, all speculation.

The only one off the top of my head is the Shard thread.

That's a very good way of looking at it.

Thank you.  :D

I'm going to agree with your latter opinion on memory storage. I've always believed it to be a transfer from the Cognitive realm to the Physical realm for storage. I picture the 3 realms (cognitive, physical & spiritual) as a big 3 sided weight system. It always has to be balanced at some point.

On your Nightblood theory: (which I completely agree with, for the most part.)

I can see the access gate being permanent but with one flaw in the theory..

Lets say that Nightblood's personality comes from the Cognitive realm (obviously). His powers come from the spiritual realm (I assume this only because they don't seem like an intelligence factor) his bond (the sword) is the physical (again, obviously).

Now! His powers only manifest during his removal from the sheath, I say that with the assumption (again) that his ability to talk to people is coming from a HIGH cognitive ability.

Would this permanent access now be a doorway that can open and shut? If it was completely permanently open, his powers would manifest THROUGH a sheath.

So many assumptions, man this is fun.

Yes, Brandon said "Elantris already has a sequel. It's called Mistborn."

It's the Liar of Partinel that happens centuries or millennia earlier.

Ok ... now I'm thoroughly confused again... will any of this ever be explained to those of us who just read the books and aren't in the inner circle? 'cause I can wait for that explanation... but all this is confusing me again!

Don't forget that you don't NEED this info for the books. I honestly doubt Brandon will ever come out and explain everything that is in the cosmere. Just me speculating though. I keep reading tid bits about how Way of Kings will really open up the doors to knowledge about the cosmere and shards and the such.

I consider the Cosmere info in book to be like video game and movie easter eggs. They're there, if you see them and KNOW what they are, then it's epic. If you don't know what they are then you are basically not seeing them at all and it doesn't effect you in the least.

That's not beta reading. Beta readers are like Miyabi and fRR who read almost the final draft. To be a beta, you have to read at a stage where you can still give feedback that gets acted on.

MY BAD! Omega is what I ment. Thought he was joking around about the new self proclaimed Omega readers. Mind fart.

Chapters will most likely be released on Tor.com first, possibly starting this month.

Question for my fellow betas: Does this count as Alpha reading?

Nope. If it's released in any form to the public, it is open to the Beta readers.

How many chapters is he planning on releasing? I could possibly go into shock if I start reading and can't finish. Eep.
