Just thought I'd throw this in here. Cake rules!

A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. Also, Jade Knight has betrayed Pie even more than Shaggy. I will say that he is trying to take over both pie and Cake, as he is running for leader of both. Now, while I am not suggesting an alliance, (because that would never work) I am suggesting that both pie and Cake shun this backstabber known as Jade Knight!

We don't know enough about the abilities of the Dakhor monks to accurately compare them to a Feruchemist. For instance, we know they can teleport, but we don't know how they do it other than it requires a human sacrifice. They could have other abilities that were not shown in Elantris.
