I am just going to guess here.  But, I believe that the final battle scene is completely written and will just have to be modified some to bring in the changes that will occur through editing and filling in the blanks of the rest of the book.  We known that RJ wrote the end of the book a while back so hopefully that includes the final battle.

Its been a while since I read the book, but if I remember correctly the returned come back larger then normal humans.  Granted that can be done with camera tricks, but it would be easier to start with more built or larger peopele to play the returned.

Yes all metals that are currently burning are flared.  You have to shut off your other metals before burning durilium or they will be gone as well.  Makes good thinking for an RPG if a mistborn forgets to shut off tin before turning on durilium.  Instant blindness from the flare. :D

Brandon made a comment on his site today about a book store in India that just imported his books.  There is a link to it as well.  That might be cheaper for you now.  http://brandonsanderson.com/blog/795/Various-Warbreaker-Notes

Every few months I was checking when the next Wheel of Time book came out.  Then I was checking on status every day after RJ got ill to see how he was doing.  After he passed and it was announced that BS was going to be finishing the series I looked into what he had published.  The only problem was everytime I ended up in a bookstore I forgot his name so it took me a couple months to get Elantris.  After Elantris I was hook on BS.  I never forgot his name again either ;).

You are not going to get much done at work today are you?

I haven't ordered mine yet. I order all my books from the Science Fiction Book Club.  Warbreaker is a feature selection this month.  I guess that means he is going to be getting more sales from the people who forget to decline there feature selections.

I'm in my reread and Mat was just hung by the fox people.  I love Mats storyline.  He did learn that he had to marry the daughter of the nine moons from the snake people when he entered the ter'angreal in Tear.   However, from the context of which they talk, there answers are not set in stone like Min's are.  They say that if he doesn't go to Rhudean he will die.  That implies that he has a choice and there answers are open to change.  More of what is most likely rather then what will be.

I am glad I remove the cover while I am reading the book. I would be depressed picking up this book everyday with that cover on it.   It should be much better.  I know they say not to judge a book by its cover but that is what most people do, myself included.  I go to the book store to pick out a new series or book.  The first thing I do is look at the covers and title.  If they catch my eye I will read the overview on the back.  If that sounds good I will go back and find the first book of the series.  Looking at this cover, I would not read the overview and just put it back on the shelf.  If not for the pre existing fan base this cover could ruin the book. Taking that into account it is still going to hurt by keeping some readers from picking up the series.

I also believe that humans in general have a rather limited view on where life can and cannot survive.  For a long time we believed nothing could live at the bottom of the ocean due to the pressure.  Just because a planet does not have oxygen or other compounds needed for carbon based lifeforms, does not mean that life can not exist on it.  We tend to search for planets that can support human life.  They think they have found some but with the number of light years we have to look across you can not take a close up of the planet.  Earth is small and close to the earth when it comes to planets so it is hard to locate other earth like planets.

I like both eyes open and eyes closed.

Eyes open says "Who's next?" to me.  The eyes seem to be issuing a challenge.

The eyes close is more like "That was easy."  Mainly because there is a sense of serenity in the picture.

The Assasin's series was great.  I read it many times.  I even got pulled out to get additional screening at the airport once due to them picking up the book and reading the title.  I was reading Royal assasin at the time.

Very nicely done.   The only thing I noticed was the ash fall.   I think it is too big and blocky.  It should look more like snow in my opinion.    Some of the falling pieces look more like charred fabric falling then ash.

Soldier Son was on odd series.  It had its good parts and bad parts.  I didn't particularly like the ending though.  It seemed that he was to attached to the characters so everything had to turn out perfect.

I hope that this isn't the case.  It would mean the the Gods are making different decisions at different times too with the different types of magic systems.

We already have the alternate worlds in WoT as well with the portal stones.  Granted they don't get used much but the theory is laid out.

A good healer at the time when LTT was going mad could heal anything short of death.  They tried to heal the madness but never succeeded.  We are unsure if he healed the damage caused taint or gave him temporary sanity.  My guess would be the later because of the fact that all the others were unable to heal the insanity.
