Brandon Sanderson / Re: Official Release of AMoL in Denmark
« on: March 06, 2009, 02:57:27 AM »
From what i read in Brandons blog it seems like he is a bit sceptical of the release date in November. and as far as release dates being accurate Pat rothfuss seems to be a bit upset at amazon for the incorrect release date of wise mans fear. not that the publishers dates are that inaccurate but i just don't see the complete AMoL coming out by November if its not even through the first rough draft yet.

I don't really get to enjoy the quiet hours in the middle of the night, I'm lacking certain equipment to keep him happy. My wife always says it is a great time to bond with the baby. I do enjoy laying on the couch and putting him on my chest and reading or watching TV while he sleeps. That's some of my favorite memories with my other two children. i can still remember doing that with both of them its so cool having them scrunched up on your chest sleeping soundly. Right now he's laying next to me in his dinosaur p.j's with the built in gloves sleeping soundly. It almost makes you forget the sixteen hours of labor and the in laws coming up to visit and all the other stresses that come with a new baby. I just love being a daddy its one of my favorite things in the world.

We just brought him home yesterday, and he hasn't quite figured out that he is supposed to sleep at night. I do really enjoy this time when you can just sit and hold them for hours. Its kind of nice sitting at the hospital with just me, my wife and the baby. but that time is over and now we have to deal with our other two kids, and both our parents. it can be stressfull but i really enjoy having a new baby.

Sorry to hear that, losing a pet is always tough. i remember losing my beagle, she was 13 years old when she died. we were hunting partners for a long time before she went.

I have always wanted a pet ferret too. ever since i read the book zucchini when i was a kid. they always looked like fun.

The lack of sex and bad language is part of what i really enjoy about Brandons books. I probably wouldn't be nearly as thrilled to read them if i had moral issues with them. In the past I have actually stopped  reading books because of the sex scenes in them, maybe its me but sex really should not be part of normal literature. Maybe it would even be a good idea to have a rating system on books so people don't go to try a new author and find out that the book is full of sex and bad language. That would really help me in the book picking process, I mean I choose not to watch rated R movies because there are things i would rather not see or hear it really helps in the weeding out process. Not to mention a rating would let me know what my kids are reading.

I am finally done with drywall. That makes me so happy. I have been working on it almost non stop since thanksgiving and its finally done. We are having a new baby in march and this actually puts me ahead of schedule for getting the room done. Now its just trim, carpet and , closet organizers and i will be done, but i have to wait for tax returns before i can do some of that.

it was really just a joke, i wouldn't really tresspass on my neighbors property just to shoot their dog.  really the best way to deal with the said dog is to confront the neighbor, if that doesn't work the next step would be the authorities. maybe then the neighbor would get the picture. so instead of being a pacifist and just dealing with the barking you could deal with the real problem.

41
For example; you are my neighbor, and your dog barks all night, every night. I repeatedly ask you about it, but you say you can't stop him from doing it. Now, because I think the dog is annoying, can I shoot it? It would certainly make the neighborhood quieter. What do you think?

thats when you get out your paintball gun and put a couple of well placed shots the dogs way. that will shut it up and you neighbor will be none the wiser.

I think that the way teenage/young adult culture has evolved has also influenced popular fiction (more specifically, fiction intended for teenage/young adult readers). There is a lot of emphasis on drinking, sex, and drugs nowadays that often finds a way to creep into books.…

try ted dekkers lost books series its a good clean read for the teenage/young adult age group. heck I'm 29 and i enjoy them, but they are geared more toward y/a.
