Books / Ian Irvine's View From the Mirror and Well of Ehoes Quartets. POSSIBLE SPOILERS?

So I just finished the second of these Quartets, and I believe, there's also a Song of Tear Trilogy as well, but I haven't read those. Anyway, I thought these books were decent, but not overly amazing. I really like some parts, hated others, and the rest fell somewhere in between. I really really liked most of the first quartet, but the second one took a bit for me to get into it. I hated the first half of Geomancer, but once I got into Tetrarch it got way better, I was however very disipointed with the ending of Chimera, which ins really a cliff hanger, and is set up to begin the song of tears trilogy. That's one of the main reason's I liked the View from the Mirror Quartet better, The Way Between Worlds wraps up nicely, and there is no need for a continuation, all though he did leave room for it. There is far too little resolution for the end of chimeara for my taste, burt I guess I'll havew to read song of tears to find out more. HAs anyone else read these, please Iike to read your thoughts, and If you want to talk about Song of Tears, maybe it would be best to hide them by changeing the color, so others can read the posts, since there are only spoiler warnings for the first two quartets.

Video Games / Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Might as well start a thread for it since it's one of the only other video games I really play, has any one else, what do the you think about it, due to lack of funds and Wii I haven't played the continuation, Radiant Dawn yet, but maybe some else has. Thoughts?
I like the overall storyline, there's some good character development, the cut scenes are really cool, gameplay can get boring, in betwen gameplay (the talking bits) even more so, but I still like it. It's a good strategy game.

Video Games / Zelda: Twilight Princess

Sorry if this is already a topic, (I looked back to page 5, which was last posted on 2006, before the game came out I believe so I think I'm pretty safe), and sorry about talking about another gamecube game, but Twilight Princess is probably one of the best gamecube games I have ever played (yes, along with Baten Kaitos). It's challenging, has a great storyline, and is realy really fun to play. I also think the graphics in Twilight Princess are arguably the epitome of all game cube games. It won almost all the awards availiable in the Nintendo Power awards last year, and is just really an all around stupendous game. The only problem is I wish it was longer, I really can't get enough of it.

Writing Group / Suggestions Welcome

Ok, so in this story I'm writing (trying to write) I have a Queen who's sort of a self styled empress, really powerful, perfectionist, with absolute control of her kingdom, you know the drill. Anyway, she has four assistants called Sentinels, who take care of most of the daily administration fo the kingdom, leaving her to deal with other matters. The Sentinels have been raised from childhood to be what they are, I think they are going to be orphans of some kind, or something like that (I'm done the story part in my head, I'm still figuring out some background stuff), and one is currently having an affair with the Queen. Wierd, I know. Anyway, I wanted there to be a personal term for the Sentinals to have for the queen, a sort of title or nickname. Right now I'm using "your majesty," but I would like the Sentinels to have another, more personal title for her, and I think master, mistress, teacher and all that have been way over done. Some suggested terms have been, Mother (which is creepy considering she's having an affair with one of them,) earth mother, Essence, Radiance, Sun, Morning Star, that sort of thing, but none of them seem to fit. I was wondering if anyone else had some ideas, because I have no idea what to say, so post here if you have an idea or like one of the ones listed above.

Oh, and if anyone has a replacement for the word sentinel, I' d like that too, it just feels a tad overdone to me as well. Thanks

Video Games / Baten Kaitos

It's possible there is another thread for this, and if there is I apologize, but Baten Kaitos for gamecube is probably when of the best games I have played. It's an RPG with an amazing storyline and characters. The battle system is a little tedious, and sometimes confusing, but on the whole, I loved it. The second game, Baten Kaitos Orgins, fixes some of the problems- faster paced battle system, characters sharing decks instead of one for each character, but the storyline isn't nearly as good. The Original just had so many twists and turns, I didn't know what to expect!
