I didn't even consider normal.  Went straight to nightmare.

Nice. I usually run through a game on normal before kicking up the difficulty level. Are you using a lot of single target spells then?

Good game. Playing a mage on normal difficulty is pretty much easy mode. The AoE spells are just insane and since there is no friendly fire in normal mode it's a cake walk.  The game did feel kind of rushed though. Among other things, the combat plays a tad stiff. No overwhelming complaints with it though.

Really can't wait to play this game. ME1 was definate favorite of mine. However, I picked up ME2 along with Darksiders and have been putting all of my spare time into that. I figured if I played ME2 first, Darksiders wouldn't get touched for another couple of months.

While I await the arrival of Memories of Ice I wandered off into the non-fiction section. I started to read a book on profiling serial killers. One of the scariest books I've ever picked up.

It is stilnot guaranteed that George RR Martins HBO series will go beyond the pilot. A decision will be madein march.

Speaking of that...Whomever did the casting for that should do the casting for the Mistborn movie:

Eddard Stark - Sean Bean
Tyrion Lannister- Peter Dinklage
Cersei Lannister- Leana Headey

To name a few. I say job well done.

Damn. Now I have to get HBO.

Vin - (provided we could age her down)Sandra Bullock.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?  Maybe ten years ago she could have played Vin in the movie adaption of the third book...but she was -never- a very kickass type of actress.

Agreed. Not enough ass-kickery. I really like the suggestions of Glau and, of course, Jovovich.

As for the Rock he'd probably be to busy making another horrible movie.

Very cool. I definitely hope this actually gets made.

I have one request. Milla Jovovich. She's the queen of ass-kickery. She's played Alice(Resident Evil) AND Leeloo(The Fifth Element) and she's gorgeous. It's win win.

After the bookstore mishap I decided to switch gears and started reading Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker. Never read any of his stuff and it was sitting there on one of my bookshelves and decided to give it try. I'm pretty impressed so far.

Recently went out to buy Memories of Ice, the third Malazan book, and they did not have it in. So, I browsed around a little bit and decided to pick up the first book in Cooks Black Company series. Or so I thought. I somehow managed to, accidentally, buy The Return of the Black Company. >:(

I started to read it and something just didn't seem right. So, I checked the inside cover page to see the order the books were written in and saw, as I had thought, "The Black Company" was listed as book 1. Upon acknowledging that I had indeed bought the right book I flipped it over, just in case, and finally realized that it was The Return of the Black Company. Son of a......

Isn't it implyed near the end that Preservation needed a person created by Ruin and Preservation together in order to attack Ruin at the end? if not, wouldn't Preservation just do what Vin did thousands of years ago?

I would have to go back and re-read but either way my point is that there is/was no mention of Preservation not being capable of violence.

I might be confused, but how was Preservation able to stab Elend at the end of WOA if it could only preserve not attack.

Hmmm....Well I don't think it says anywhere that Preservation couldn't "attack". Even when Vin is Preservation, for that brief time ,she/it attacks Ruin. Especially since Preservation's main motive at the time was to indeed "preserve" the world it had created I think it was all on the up and up.

I'm currently finishing up book 2 in the Malazan series, Deadhouse Gates. Good so far but I was much more impressed with Gardens of the Moon. Maybe that will change after I read the ending.

At least part of the psychopath change was due to Fain's influence, remember.

Good call. I completely forgot that they ever even met. That and with what Eerongal said could explain it I suppose.
