Okay,

I am Kevin Evans, wandered in here after meeting Brandon at few conventions, got to the conventions because some of my friends were also attending. My wife and I currently reside in Rio Rancho New Mexico. I also attended BYU, but left after they combine my major was a numbercrunching major. Since then I have spent 13 years in the Army and 11 years working for the FAA. Among my interests is a group called the SCA where I've been involved in hand-to-hand combat for the past 37 years. I read and collect science fiction have my walls completely covered with bookshelves and still have far too many books for the bookshelves. My wife and I are frequent contributors to the Grantville Gazette, this is a magazine publishes a part of the canon of the 1632 story braid by Eric Flint. 1632 was going to be Eric Flint's stand-alone Y2K novel, demand for a sequel, and continuing interest have pushed this in two over three million words in print, that is over nine novels and 14 short story collections. We (my wife and I) are continuously interested in improving our writing styles and abilities. We have however come to the realization that writing cannot replace our day job. (My wife says, "it is my day job")

As the gaming,
We began gaming with a little paper pamphlet called Chain Mail in the 70s. I personally have been involved in the development of several now long gone games, among them Tunnels and Trolls And Mustangs and Messerschmitt's. Currently I Spent Far Away Too Much Time Hacking Away at PC Games.

Good to Be Here,
Kevin

Actually,
It's more along the lines of fair warning. We average around 50 cases a year, and it had one fatality so far this year. It's been a problem here since the Spanish brought it in 400 years ago. Bubonacon is now in its 39th year of operation. And due to the large number of authors who live in New Mexico seems to get more than its fair share of participating guests. This year the guest of honor is Vernor Vinge. And on Saturday there is an event for all the Arch Villains to wear their high end costumes. Y'all are welcome,
Kevin

Why in heaven's name would someone name a convention after the Bubonic plague?  Sheesh, talk about poor taste. What's next AIDSacon?

No matter what you get,
Spend some time with the key board and layout of the device. We just bought a new laptop for my wife, the biggest consideration is that we wright and she wanted good ergonomics, and a ten key pad. that pushed us in to a 17" screen, all has worked out well, and she had the thing at Conduit 07. It came with Vista and we are resigned..... New OSs are like the weather, imposed in us by force and mitigated by equipment.
Regards,
Kevin
