Everything feels slow right now. It feels as though I'm going through my life in slow motion, which is beginning to annoy me. It just feels later than it really is, and the date feels all wrong, and it's getting dark at 4:30PM, which doesn't help the feeling. Not to mention I've been sick over the past few weeks, seems my body wanted to catch everything all in one go.  >:(

And there are too many great video-games coming out, and I can't be spending so much money on my favorite hobby. Ugh.

I've finally broken 100k on my main idea, which is around the half way mark for what I have plotted, and looking back on it, I'm pleased with the work. There are definitely a few patches that will need to be rewritten, but the main focus right now is to get the story finished. I've learned the hard way that revising while writing bogs everything down, and that revising a finished story would probably be easier.

In the meantime, I've begun work on another idea; basically a story about Air Pirates and Air Ships, because I've always been fascinated with large ships flying through the air, and I like pirates. So, Arrgh! That's currently only around 5k. Basically, think Skies of Arcadia, and I don't even plan on it being published. I just want to write about pirates and learn about ships, and all the nautical terms I could convert to a sky theme.

So I officially now have two books I'm working on. Hurray!

Or an iPhone. That would be awesome.

I don't have Fable 2, but Fallout 3 feels like the Game of the Year right now. Just an amazing experience for me thus far, and I'm not even halfway through the game (I think...?)

So, if you're going to spend money, and have to get one game... I think the game should be Fallout 3. Especially if you're into post-apocalyptic stories and RPG-FPS. I've already put twenty hours into it, and like I said, only about halfway through.

Granted, I take my sweet time getting from place to place; I like exploring.

Fable 2 will have to wait for my attention. :(

*Is startled. Very startled*

Captain Underpants... I think I remember seeing those and (at the time) thinking they looked stupid.

I think now is the time to go back and read them.

As much as I agree with Mummy, I had to vote for the Disaster Movie, because any of those movies are offending to all 5 senses. Ugh, they should have stopped after the first Scary Movie.

I considered doing it but I'm so close to finishing my first book as it is...  :-\

I'll do it next year, when I have another book under my belt and my improvement is more than subtle, then I'll branch out and try a sci-fi. :D

I didn't read much in my youth (waitaminute, I'm still young...), but what I did read is slightly embarrassing. Animorphs was all I really read from grade 3-5. In Middle School I think I attempted to read LoTR, but couldn't finish it. I actually think my favorite book during this time was "Halo: Fall of Reach", because I remember reading it over and over, and yes; I'm of the opinion that it is the only Halo story that should be converted into a movie.

And then in High School I  didn't read anything. Only recently have I been reading everything I missed and didn't hear about then. This last year has been great. :) WoT, LoTR (actually finished), Mistborn, Elantris, Hobbit, the other Halo novels... I'm obviously trying to branch out.

I'm going to start diving into the deep world of Lucasworld soon, the parts of the story that he hasn't ruined at least.

If I had money I would so spend it to purchase this game and Fallout3. Everyone who has it post your impressions on the forum! I wanna know! (No story spoilers though, I love Molyneux's stories.)

Video Games / Re: Halo 3 Recon
« on: October 22, 2008, 02:25:25 PM »
The thing that made Halo 3 worth it was how they ended it with *SPOILER* the same Halo that the first one took place on.

Storming the control room, one last time, is still bone chillingly awesome.

Recon, however, looks to be exactly what I wished Halo 2 would've been. Kicking the covenants collective behind on Earth, and I think the twist of not playing as the chief might have the same effect as playing as Raiden in MGS2. While I hate Raiden, while I will never play MGS2 again because of Raiden, he did accomplish the goal of using that character; to make Snake look even cooler than he already was. So perhaps this is Bungie's way to make the Chief look even more like the BAMF he is.

And the element of choosing the battles you take a part of seems pretty good. :D

I'm predicting an incredibly tense and amazing series that will span 7 games.

And regardless of what happens, I am just so glad that the Yankees are nowhere to be seen.  ;D

Amen.

This Friday is going to be spectacular. I'm not really afraid of the Rays losing because, even if they do end up not making it to the World Series, they got further than anyone in their right minds could have predicted. Tell me though, is it as weird for you as it is for me, that the Red Sox will be playing Tampa as the Wildcard and not the AL East Champs? I just get blown away every time I read that in an article, and very proud of what Madden has been able to accomplish with this team.

And I think that whoever wins the NLCS series is doomed to lose to whoever wins the ALCS. Though I will admit I'm intrigued of a possible Manny-Torre versus the Red Sox, on the World Series stage. That would be just as excited a series to watch as Tampa taking it all, almost.

I was laughing at how the Dolphins, out of all the teams, seem to have the Patriots number for some weird reason. And a sad fact that people seem to ignore is that a quality QB isn't what's needed to win games on a weekly basis, but a solid team surrounding a quality QB carries weight. Just because you have a... well I wouldn't call him one of the worst but he's pretty bad, doesn't mean your team automatically sucks. You guys still have Moss. You guys still have that Defense. You still have an amazing O-Line, I believe. Hell, I could probably play and make the Patriots still look good.

And for the record, I was happy with both baseball games tonight. Boston and LAA both played an excellent game that was exciting and fun to watch (even if the commentators were a bit hard to bear with), and Boston will be coming to Tampa come Friday. The game last night, the epic five hour game that I could have watched two Lord of the Rings films through, was the Boston style of baseball that I loved in 2004. It was a shame they lost, but also a blessing because it meant Tampa and Boston would play today, which is what I wanted.

And the Seahawks are pathetic. Going the way of the Mariners, it seems.
