I'm actually very curious about these systems. I wonder if Brandon would use some rune-based magic systems...

So, according to this rule, we can expect that Larasium also returns to this world after some time.

Only if Sazed decides to release some of it.
Maybe the process can go on without his knowledge/acceptance? I mean, balance is something even he can't change - the amount of Preservation and Ruin in the world is constant.
I know that it's a stretch, but it's one of the best theories I have for the next Mistborn possible plots.

I, Michal Piotr Andziak, thoughtfully take the oath to never, under any circumstances, read any of Brandon Sanderson's works that have not been published or released to wider public in any possible way. I take the oath to never betray my Omega fellowmen.
And I shall strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

WHich one is Larsium again? is that by any chance the "hey Elend, don't die, you can be a badass instead" metal?
Yup, that's the one.
If you didn't read HoA, I'll write a short explaination...
There are two God Metals, Atium and Larasium, both coming from one of two godlike entities from Mistborn world, Ruin and Preservations. It's told somewhere in the book that consumed Atium returns to the world to be harvested from the Pits of Hatshin.
So, according to this rule, we can expect that Larasium also returns to this world after some time.

Pretty sure Liam Neeson needs to be in there somewhere. Bluefingers? Vasher? Denth? One of the gods? King Dedelin?

Not seeing any bad options here.

Denth, in my opinion.

I am dying to see, how Sanderson managed to think all of them out.

Well, about possible Mistborn sequel, I've got my own idea for the story. I think I already wrote it somewhere here, but I'll do it again.
So, I was wondering, if Atium returns to the world a long time after it's used, and it's growing in the Pits, maybe Larasium - which should follow the same rules, due to the balance on Scandrial - does as well? I think there are Larasium Pits somewhere in Mistborn's world, waiting for people to discover them.
That would fit the story, if the sequel would be set hundreds of years after all the atium and all the larasium have been burned. Imagine that! There are no Mistborn in the world, they are known only from legends, and suddenly, the chance to become one reappears, along with the deadliest of metals, atium.

Assuming that Larasium and Atium will both return to Scandrial, and assuming that someone, theoretically, may know this fact, we have the main plot for next Mistborn book ready.

But why would Ruin want people to burn Atium?
The only answer to that I can see would be that, maybe at the beginning atium was scattered all around the world, and he wanted to gather it in one place, Pits.

But it's the wrong power.  Preservation creating a Misting that can only use a power not of him?  Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Well, the biggest distinction between the God Metals (Atium and Lerasium) and the others is not only their source, but also that Atium and Lerasium were invented solely for Mistborn.
But you missed one thing - ANYBODY can burn Larasium.

A logical question, then, would be what would happen if a non-Allomancer ate atium much in the same manner that someone takes lerasium.

This happened on a regular basis.  That's how they discovered Seers.

But they were already Allomancers, Seers, and the Atium simply brought that fact to light.

They needed to check if somebody's is a Seer or not, so most people who were eating it were just normal people.

Brandon has said Hoid isn't a shard, but that he is closely related.  He was there when Adonalsium shattered
I'm not saying Hoid is a shard, but that he is the conciousness of all the shards combined: Adonalsium, and thus was present when Adonalism shattered.
Or a man who Adonalsium have given a mission to? We still don't know what was behind Adonalsium destruction, so it's hard to guess who Hoid could be.

Must re-read the HoA and probably the rest too, I'm making more and more mistakes :)
Sorry, and thanks for pointing it out.

But anyway, you can't disagree that burning atium have nothing to do with powering yourself with Preservation.

But the fact that it was stolen doesn't change it's power itself, does it? If it would, then Atium would be totally useless for Ruin.
But, if you think about it, it shouldn't be a problem. Allomancy doesn't use the power of Preservation, but instead it's just created by it. Preservation's and Ruin's power doesn't really collide then - you just burn the metal and release the power kept in it. Be it any kind of power.

That's true, I never thought about it like this. I think we should dig into this.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Mistborn as a Video Game

I would agree to the instant-multiplayer system, but for an MMO - no wai! That's a bad idea.
And for what Chaos said, it's a one-in-a-kind situation we had in TFE, where a Mistborn was the captain of group of Mistings. It depends on what the story would be, but I don't think the original Mistborn's story would do the trick in a videogame.
But if we would have a situation like that, I agree with Chaos. That would be a totally good idea.
