I agree with BS that is more important to have a group that understands the book than a typical Hollywood deal. What I've never understood is why they would pay a lot of money for the movie rights to a book then change the whole thing up until it is virtually indistinguishable from the book.  Really hope this is more in the Lord of the Rings vein where basically an unknown did great things.

Really? He's the best but I sure want to see the return of Moraine and what Aviendha has been up to. Sure would like to see Egwene keep growing and start to kick some Aes Sedai booty. Perrin can become cool again now that the eternal Faile rescue is over and Rand might become more early Rand like once he learns to laugh and cry again. Nynaeve has become pretty interesting lately, Oh yeah Lan in the borderlands, Galad in charge of Whitecloaks, Thom, Jain, Verin etc.

I'm sorry some of you feel that way but I discovered the greatness of BS because of his being picked to write AMOL. If BS picks up a lot of other new fans the same way his next books should be much more popular and you should get a lot of new views and speculation on them. If you are mainly agitated about losing the coziness of being one of the few to know about BS then I feel for you but those days may be over (not at my local B&N, however , where they have one copy of Elantris and BS is still an unknown).

Ha! my son found a description of Elaida in LoC Chapter 7 page 206 (in the paperback).

"An unyielding stern-faced woman, handsome rather than beautiful, and dark of hair and eye, Elaida wore a blood-red dress, with the striped stole of the Amyrlin Seat about her shoulders."

So not blonde.

Interesting about the lack of description of Elaida as I never noticed that she was never described before. Even the Wikipedia page doesn't describe her except in general Aes Sedai tems. However, she is from Murandy as is Padan Fain and the Dabel Brothers graphic novels portrayed her as a light skinned brunette.  Not sure but I would guess Robert Jordan saw those and would have shot anything down that was off.

It was odd in that the first time it seemed to be so but after reading Book 11 and then re-reading the series Book 10 has a lot of subtle stuff that leads into the explosions of 11 (Book 12 (and 13?) should send the series into the stratosphere. I hope it ends with a few wicked twists like Hero of Ages and shows all of us speculators that we don't know anything.

Someone over at Dragonmount had a good observation about Perrin in that the Faile rescue was long but was a great chance to set up his alliance with the Seanchan. Mat has also done the same by impressing Tuon and her rescuers with his skill in battle. I also doubt they are looking forward to battles with Rand and even Ituralde has made an impression. I'll bet they think very differently about the military leaders than before they sailed and working with them at the Last Battle should be easier now.
